heres me after fitting a awkward cv joint!!!!!! hahah would never make a ''proper'' mechanic that ''keeps clean''
what else do you do while sat on a floor 4 5 hours getting you fingers trapped in metal bits and bobs!!!!!! keeps me sane!!!!! also feels gud too we have to rent it between 4 of us!!!!!! gets a little heated sometimes!!
Err only one I have Yes I know thats about the hardest way to take the engine out... this was before a little chat with GVK, I did eventually take the front end off when putting it back in Was the first time had ever done anything like that.
thats nothing. i was caked in golf crap this weekend when trying to get my 'box out. still under the nails now.... 4 shouwers later
Can't polish a turd Note the overalls caked in muck, the way the do after about 4 days straight in the garage. You WILL fit in that hole!!
I tried to brake a car in the ****ing rain once. Got absolutely filthy. vduben - get some of those surgical gloves. You will prob go through a pair every half hour or so but keeps all the crud from getting under your nails/into your skin.
Ah, they've been saying that used oil is carcinogenic for years - but I've never seen any reports of car mechanics from the old days, back when they used to work with no clothes on, developing cancer more often than anyone else......... Probably the same as barbecued food, apparently the carbonised bits give you cancer and you die later that day.
hello you lot, need your opinion on a matter sombody just brought up. I am a mechanic, and only have to look ant a car and i end up filthy (will post a pic of my overalls that were clean on monday, on friday) anyhoo, my boss tells me off for getting dirty, says it looks unprofesinal, well considering that he sits in an office allday and his overalls are clean, and im working all day, and mine are black, what shows that iv'e been working more. so i ask you... - dirty mechanics overalls, profesinal or unprofesinal????
Heard tell that oily rags in the pocket was the explanation behind a high incidence of testicular cancer in grease monkeys. I always put mine in the back pocket. Cancer of the butt cheeks I can live with.
well, i`m from the trade too, and tbh if i were to take my car somewhere for work to be done on it, i`d be a lot more comfortable leaving it somewhere that was surgically clean rather than some oily pit. all the best garages i`ve worked in have been kept as clean as poss, and the boss has usually had your overalls cleaned every week. but that said, how clean or filthy you end up depends on personal work habits and how you were taught your trade really. sometimes i can be very tidy, but as soon as i`m in a situation where i haven`t got enough space to work properly, or a lack of equipment then i get messy as..
