Exactly as Eddie said mate. I found mine on Ebay a couple of years ago. They come up every now and then.

Anybody recommend a good paintable underseal and seam sealer? Preferably the same as VW used?

We're all to skint or not allowed by our wives to buy stuff like under seal from the stealers when more reasonably priced stuff is available .
You got no answer because were jealous of your progress :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

You've been away for a good while setting up your new business so don't worry .
Your Mk2 has sat on the back burner while you messed with newer Turbo stuff and changed carriers , no problem .
Things have quietend down on here because of the raise of Facebook ( great to just show something or ask a question ) but the knowledge and great build threads are still here . Also things change people get busy with their lives and we live in a world with so much pressure ( often self inflicted as we want more and more from our 24x7 ) work and family should be more important than old cars .
I've had the greatest of intentions for the last couple of years but hardly any things actually happened :(
Keep asking and keep posting and if everyone does that things will get busier  keep the faith bro :hug::hug:

Im only jesting my friend! lol This is the only forum I use. If I dont get an answer, I just google it! Most times it lists a thread on here, which saves time trying to find an answer by going through all the threads or it takes you to another forum. If I get an answer, then its there for everyone to see too.

With regards to underseal, I know there are cheaper ones out there that will be just as good. BUT, the VW one has lasted very well for 27 years, so in my eyes its proven. After going to so much trouble with rebuilding my MK2, I want to be confident that I wont have to do it again in 5 years. F#@k that! [:s] Id like to see my boy driving it in 10 years or so, so the next time it gets rebuilt, he is doing it! lol

It is pretty quiet though at the moment, but at least the usual "suspects" are still on here. lol

Get back on it Micky, we could both having a little race this year! [:D]

Did you ever come across that single wiper conversion?

Nothing major, but was the start of something. Will weld up the 2 round holes, they are of no use, then repair both tiny holes.
Other than that, it looks pretty good!

What method did you use to scrape the underseal off? Doing that task on mine soon and just looking at which is the most proficient way? Also loving the build!
