that doesnt really show the socket pins, this is std automotive relay wiring: 30 - 12v input 85 - earth 87 - output to ecu 86 - ign live
KL87 - switched live to consumer KL30 - Battery supply KL86 - Relay coil ign +ve KL85 - Relay coil gnd
ahhhh gotcha..learning all the time on here thanks for that rubjonny& Toyo brutalmk2-16v. supressor was 4
ive hit a brick wall here ive blown 2 fuses on the fuel pump/injector supply (20 amp) the coil is making random cracking noises and the supply wire is warming up..not excessively though any ideas, as ever , greatly appreciated
what exactly are you running off the pump/injector line? could it be those resoistors are just pulling too much load for a 20a
hi again rubjonny. im running a pump from a mk1 gti, an in tank lift pump and weber low impedance injectors.. ive just been told (reminded) that the K6 ECU is setup to run conventional spark out of the box and im setup for wasted so i have to send it back, hopefully i havent fried anything, but judging by the weird crackly noised coming from the coil i probably have the other thing..the suppressor is bolted to the head, so not earthed, this shouldnt matter right?
well if the engine block is earthed properly thats fine, which it must be otherwise the starter motor wouldn't work how does the fuel pump sound? maybe disconnect the wiring from your injectors and bridge relay so pump is running constant, then see if fuse still blows after a similar amount of time. if it does, you know one of the pumps is drawing too much power.
Replace fuse for FP and Injectors. Remove the ECU connection the injectors and try cranking. However if you think that the PCM was not configured with the drivers to run two spark channels this maybe at fault and does indeed require sending back the ECU to base.
i ran the main pump before fitting and it sounded sweet. i havent ran the lift pump in isolation. thanks toyotec..the K6 is getting posted tommorrow
Just had word from Emerald. so happy i chose this company, theyve always been extremely helpful. considering i bought the ECU 2 years ago i thought this was very good of them:
I have always had good support from them whenever there was an issue with one of their units. They are indeed very helpful as are the other brands of ECU supplier. Keep us posted when it starts
