I ordered a jacket from Amazon and it's turned up today (via Sports Direct) with a shop security tag still in place.

Any way I can get this off without a. Taking it back to the shop or b. Destroying my new clobber??

they are full of ink, and when it explodes you have no chance. The store should sort it if you take proof. Dont attempt yourself

Ben - no it's not an England shirt! It's a tracky top.

I've googled it too, but there's all sorts of weird answers along the lines of burning it or smash it with a hammer!

I thought I'd ask on here with pics of the actual tag in question.

If you've got a reciept take it to a shop, works on a powerful magnet i was told once.

I've removed that type before, its a pain in the rear and all the time you take care the hole will end up far bigger as it gets stretched every time you hold it.

can't take it back - it's from Internet land. There a few sportsdirects around here, but they're not massively close, so I'd rather just get it off. Hence why I bought it on line and not in the shop in the first place.

One of these going on a tag of a similar style shown on You Tube:

    Neodymium Disc Magnet

    Item number: 220623124279

Or I'll order a them and just post you one, share the cost - 80p then i can pop down the shops and start "lifting".:lol:

    You're lucky!!!

That has snapped off which unlike the one I had there was no way it would snap off, as it would simply bend or get chewed with the plier cutters.

    Good job though!
