ha ha! i was thinking about getting solid mount anyway, so glad this post came up. Do they put much extra stress on the other two?

I just bought one of these... from KingKwik on here... the engine on my 2.0 valver was flopping about like a baby's head!

Must actually get round to fitting the thing!

only prob i did have was that it put a little more stress on the clutch which was already slipping a bit.

supported the lump on a jack, undid all 3 of the bolts, jacked it up a little, removed the old, in with the new, quick line up and torque to the right settings WALA.

Thanks again king kwik, obviously havnt driven with it yet, but it looks good.

I'm using new solid rubber mounts (all 3) on mine, 2E/PB mk2, running Newman 272 cam and I'm getting plenty of vibration at idle. Is it the mounts, the cam, or just a combination of both. Thinking of changing to a 268 anyway as I do quite a bit of 'in traffic' driving on my commute to work.a

I know I know... life's just a bit busy at the mo... between the new job, buying the rocco, selling the white golf, trying to do up the house to sell it, clearing out my Grandad's old house... not to mention the long list of 'go faster' jobs to do on the 2.0 valver, and the shorter list on the 911 Carrera 3.0.

...I can't remember the last time I just got pished for a weekend.

I don't understand guys , a solid front mount with ordinary mounts elswhere? doesn't that mean the vibration and shaking no matter how small will be constantly flexing and straining the mount and/or bolts? I'd worry about cracking in the long term.... I fitted the GSF Poly kit mount to front of my MK1 , made a nice difference.
