well you can but he will show you a load of equations and test results that show you are possibly talking through your hat.

a load of "tuners" don't really understand all the theory of engine design/theory
what's good about having fellas like TT about is that he does and so you get the straight answer rather than any marketing `ollocks

But i bet your VR is a great drive, it might not be theoretically the ultimate setup, but as long as you like it then thats cool with me :p

Am I being a c0ck? I don't think so....I was just backing up TT as I knw he knows what he's talking about, but you lot weren't listening, you were still arguing with him, depite the facts he's postd.

You you're so blind and blinkered you just can't listen to what people with far more knowledge than yourself (and I don't mean me) have to say on the subject.

That goes for the rest of you too, if you actually sat back, shut up and listened to those in the know, you might actually learn something, and save money too.

I couldn't give a flying f*ck whether you think I have an attitude or not. I only lose my rag in sheer frustration at trying to get through to you lot.

I give up, I really do. do what you want to your cars, go waste your money, I don't care, I'm not helping any of you again.

    wow...calm down people.

think the best thing to agree on is...'there's more than one way to skin a cat'..can everyone agree with that?

Turbo vs S/C thread's are always entertaining. :)

Tell me tho.... What is the best way to spend 3k on a VR tho'? Not everyone has a bottomless pot of brass, or the resources, or wishes to forsake the reliabilty. :)

cheap and vr6 dont go in the same sentence ;)

    IMO, if you want a cheap 250bhp you should be tuning a G60, not a vr6 [:D]

VR's aren't cheap to run from a fuel point of view, but I reckon from a long term maintenance, point of view, the VR will be cheaper to run than a G60.
My point is, that most people have a budget, and whilst the turbo option gives the best bang for buck, I wouldn't expect it to be the most reliable solution. It's not just a case of bolting it all together and away we go, it is going to have to be properly looked after. The s/c eliminates most of this, as it can be removed in an hour and the engine will still run as normal. :)

It's horses for courses at the end of the day.

And the point of your reply dragging a month month post up is?

    But

Trust me TT (trendy Tramp) is probably one of the most knowledgeable/technical minded people on this forum. Working for Ford motorsport development or something, and you don't get that job being a dumb f*ck. Building a space framed mk2 20v turboed and Supercharged track car.
When ever i talk to him on the phone he's lost me in about 30seconds flat!!

And as for Paul (Phatty) he's been around long enough and put enough cars together to give you a truthful no bullsh!t answer. Building probably the fastest NA VR6 powered golf in the UK and helping with various other creations-- G60 turbo, mk2 Vr's etc--- he does know his stuff well also

There opinions and answers are always worth listening to
