My gripe is not car specific but more owners.....

I hate people with 16v Golfs who think that people with 8v Golfs are a lower life form...Not ALL 16v owners, but some! [:^(]

Seeing as they are all Golfs, there is no need for this Elitism.. [xx(]

I love embarassing kids in valvers who think they're gonna take a leak on my asthmatic standard 8v when they pull alongside or drive right on my tail! [:D] [:D]

Correct me if you think im wrong, but it definitely exists. The other 8v owners amongst us will relate to it im sure ;)

    Its like the North/South divide.

Everyone know the North is better, the Southerers just wont admit it.

The useless design of the exhaust hangers on mk2s?

elastic bands would be just as good methinks.

mine hangs way too low (exhaust that is) with standard length rubbers - i had to tie my last exhaust right up to the hanger with nylon rope so that it sits higher then put on rubber for mot. gonna have to do the same with this one too...

wow! Talk about a thread revival

Anyway, there is one fundamental fault that I am sure we all suffer when owning a Golf GTI... Ever had that "I-am-just-popping-somewhere-and-will-take-it-easy-cause-I-wanna-chill-and-save-petrol" kinda journey, only to find that 2 seconds behind the wheel and you cant help but drive it fast and chuck it around like your Micheal Schumacher [:$]

    So annoying :p

Normal cheapy crappy rubber hanger + Jubilee clip wrapped round the outside of it does the job perfectly.

Even the expensive ones from powerflex end up heating up and falling apart after heavy track use [:x]
