PPC might have put one in a Rover SD1, but this was started in 1960. Once listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's most powerful road car: Caught fire and was rebodied by 1980: Rolls Royce got shirty, court case lost, & duly imigrated to Spain. This was in Evo, Dec 2008, though grille (initials of owner) long since changed: Check the drifting outside the High Court @ 3:32:
I read about it there too. Apparently still lives in Spain, but he brings it over every year for it`s MOT...
I bet he does.... ! I guess PPC must have referred to it. Did a search on the net before posting and various Meteor engined things around. Three chassis done at the time of the yellow one, plus various Chevys around and a proper open wheeled racer (Goodwood/Brooklands style of car).
Jay Leno`s Tankcar? It uses a 30-litre Patton tank engine, whereas the PPC SD1 uses the 27-litre Meteor tank engine (with Dodd`s car using it`s more famous sister, the Merlin) Utterly nuts of course, but I`d love it in my garage... Also, you`d think that searching Google with `PPC SD1` would take you to their site... Nay, this was top of the listings! Also this linked from the above.
+ 6-wheeler chassis c/w Merlin (not Meteor) made by the same guy who did the Dodd chassis: + + + Loads more on the Beast here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Beast-27-litre-Merlin-aeroengined-Car/86107059499
