Very true but sadly supply and demand - if there were no sheeple out there that needed to be told how to dress, eat, speak, etc these influencers would cease to be.

On a related note my 70odd year old father in law thinks the word influencer is pronounced like "influenza" me and my mrs don't correct him as its amusing

Sorry to re-awaken this, but after sending back the 'smart' tv mentioned above (reply No. 431) I found a second-hand set very similar to our faulty one (even the remotes were interchangeable). The following day, I was told 'I can't get any sound', so I went over and looked at it, without seeing much of a problem; I settled on watching an old 'Frost', mostly for 80's vehicles in it. I was then informed "it only affects ITV Be" where Olivia Marries Her Match was on; I thought 'still no problem, a plastic so-called celebrity', but decided to scan through again, which I hadn't done earlier (I'd just plugged it in). I thought the woman looked terrible enough, but hearing her as well..

Maybe this set is smarter than we thought.

Reminds me of the Tim Vine joke where he see's a TV for sale for £5 with volume issues.

"At that price you can't turn it down"

I had to look up what 'Olivia meets her match' was and was then immediately sorry that I did, what a load of toss..!

    Here's something that may catch out 'wokists';

"What is it with poncey utes these days? They're getting bigger than ever"

    'What's an ute?'

"What the yankees call a pick-up. I don't. I think of something else when I hear the term pick-up"

    'How dare you!'

"Yeah, an electric guitar has one for each string. What did you think it meant?"

Now, the above really does look suspicious..

Wouldn't you know it, expanding reveals a spammy link. An odd tactic, and not one I've noticed before.

How trends change - I remember modded cars with stickers down the wing or back window (Alpine, Brembo, Greddy, NOS, Fido Dido etc) sometimes known as a shopping list! Plus all those numberplates with fancy fonts and italics now we get gel plates and 4D lettering (with stupid spacing). Who would a thought a numberplate with fridge magnet lettering would be popular.

To play an arcade game you actually left the house....

Who remembers playing Spy Hunter and Outrun?

Those numberplates are my pet hate. Every single roadman twunt in a leased golf r or audi s3 near me has a set.

I'm especially offended by those ones that are shaped like a skip as well.

Why?! The back one is even the same colour as a fuggin' skip

In the UK we seem to have this crazy fascination about numberplates, whether that be personalised plates, cut down versions, gel fonts, numberplate screws in the wrong place, tinted plates, no plate at all instead propped on the dash or on the sunvisor.
