Hi there, this is the engine spec that I can remember… Audi 80 2.0L block Crossflow head with big exhaust valves Ultimate road cam 285 Adjustable pulley Custom made manifold for tb’s GSXR 1000 throttle bodies and trumpets / custom fuel rail for vacuum Pipercross airfilter DTA management and custom loom Full stainless steel exhaust system 4-2-1 manifold Waste spark coil pack Bigger injectors Custom fuel rail Fuel power boost valve Custom radiator and fan Loom all rerouted Up-rated engine mounts Lightened flywheel Rebuild gearbox Mk3 polished rocker cover Soon to be finished
Very nice kiwgti. Looking forward to this being finished and the results you get. Are you running std compression? Another lad on here has used the crossflow head on a 2E bottom end, 285 cam and with a head skim to raise CR got around 150bhp and 150lbft of torques. That was running on Digifant.
WOW this is a car that was sold new out of Specialist cars in Aberdeen, I had G247 RRS, it was a red Driver.
Great bunch of cars here! My username pretty much gives away my lifelong appreciation for the humble 8v Looks like I found the right part of the forum eh? I'm going to do a new run of Save the 8v stickers soon, so if anyone is interested I could send a few over to you guys. Anyway, my current 8v daily is this Mk3 Golf Sport (basically a GTI) - Pretty modest as far as the engine goes, just 266 cam, intake, chip and exhaust, but more work is planned. And my Corrado G60 project. It may not be a GTI, but it's an 8v Sounds awesome, should be on the road once I move as well. Mechanically its sound, the body however needs a little love and de-cluttering... The start of the whole thing, my old Mk1, which I stupidly sold back in 2003 and miss quite a bit. 2.0 ABA tall block, Schrick 276 on ported solid lifter head, big throttle body, all that. Lots of fun, surprised quite a few cars in its day. The wife and I are moving soon, and I hope to pick up another Mk1 as quick as I can. For my new Mk1, I've already got the head back from this car, which was a built 1.8 8v. Sold this one in 2005. Car now scrapped. Glad to be a part of the Society -Nate
Thanks, the lights are Votex. I bought them from a guy that had them on a shelf for about 12 years and never mounted them! I hadn't noticed that they were bigger than other twins till others pointed it out.
Remind be a bit of Mike's "pascal77uk" on his MK3: http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=163217&page=10
