    toyos are awesome.

people who dismiss them are wrong, the only downside is that they are soft and wear quicker than others.

    In the dry? Yes.

Mildly moist? They are shockingly poor...

    Soft and quick wearing too.

F1s are comparable in the dry (despite their harder compound, and lower wear rate) and massively out perform them in the wet.

All in my own experience of course...

I've never clicked with T1-Rs...they aren't as good as the T1-S's were and seem to need different camber/pressures to work as well.

I am thinking of trying F1s next...so after hearing what Stu has said, I think I will.

I`ve not tried Assymetrics, but all the reviews rate them quite highly.

The directionals (GSD3) look so much better though.

I wouldn't use Toyo's on a daily in the UK, really don't like them at all and they aren't as cheap as people think as they wear twice as fast as any other tyre I've tried!

Far better stuff out there around the same price - Eagle F1's, Rainsport 2's and even the P-zero nero's in some sizes.

Maybe not on a heavier car but on my lupo gti they are good and in the wet. Only wearing on the insides because of the 1 deg camber i have. I think most of the tyres you mention there are quite a bit dearer than T1r's

Your speedo will be out with different profiles, but if you can live with that (most of us do!) then yes, as long as they are not massively different.

What sizes do you `need`, and what alternatives are available?

5% of 185 is only a cm extra on the profile shouldnt be too bad. 30 a corner? I dream of tyre prices like that!!! what brakes do you have behind those 14's?
