the man's right, wish i'd done that years ago. [:^(] i think you may under-estimate running costs on a supra jetta's.....though its still a much better idea than an rx7 from what i'm hearing.
I'm fully aware of the absolutly terrible running costs of a supra. Nick, you're right, but it doesn't matter how much i save buying a house round here just isn't happening. Thanks to all those lovely people who come to the area for the weekend I don't hope they all die.
f**k me den your stuck in the 80'S - still like the motors, but i liked the 90's cars I used to own a datsun cherry turbo as an 18 yr old - now that was quick (i thought so anyway)
When did I say I didnt like 90`s cars ? All I said was that I dont like Supras, nothing more. However, now you mention it, yes I prefer old cars. There are some modern/more recent cars I like, but not many. Its personal choice Mothy, nothing more. I dont see what the problem is. Edited by: superden
Well, the one person in here who really got me thinking is N1ck. Sod supras. Maybe even good bye vectra and hello 306tdi. And hello mortgage [:^(]
From a guy i knew who owned both the 306 1.9td and 2.0 hdi, he said the HDI was better in fuel economy but the 1.9 td felt more powerful but had lag! Also the newer HDI's the one he currently has suffered from a few electrical faults, but otherwise it's been racking up loadsa miles faultlessly! Worse you can do is get the HDI tuning box to boost it up to around 110hp, but the 1.9td can have its boost uprated manually to around 110hp with a few fuel and boost tweaks if you get someone who knows how to adjust the turbo manually!
The Uk ones wernt as supeior as the Jap ones, the Japs got bigger breaks and better suspension. There were also alot of revisions on the 96> they had different nose cones , lights and all sorts of other bits And Jettas 22mpg isnt even close try about 12 mpg mate , i drove a wide body TRD version back from Dartford to Luton and it did about 30 worth of juice. Den i think if you went in one i thik you would have a change of heart, I was never really that fussed by them until i drove one but love them now.
WTF!!! its quite obvious he dont like the things, full stop. i actually agree, in kitted up form they look like massive plastic spaceships that kids run around the estate with. And in standard form they look dated and bland, they come from that strange era when they just designed cars to look like bubbles in different shapes. i dont doubt they are quick but i certainly could find better cars for the money.
theres one near me that looks like its got batmans cape for a rear wing.. not pretty but sounds lovely when it whistles past.. celica gt4 - nearly bought a 91 instead of the golf.. we all make mistakes
