How easy isit to change the head gasket on a diesel, also isit the same way as you remove the head and get it skimmed and then put on the headgasket on the bottom end and bolt down with new bolts?

I'm looking change my turbo for a lot more power :)
but will some tell me if it's worth it?
    Here is my plan lol,
    metal head gasket
t3/t4 turbo which is pushing 27psi (150ish ok eBay)
    mk2 2.0ltr 8v exhaust manifold with t3/t4 flange(cast iron 150ish on eBay)
bigger injectors for 110 tdi, .205 (I have already got)
remap to finish off the fine tuning

just while I'm on changing parts, would my gearbox hold the torque and power?
And also drive shafts aswel? Would they hold all the torque and power seen as they are stock ones?

anyone reckon I should go through with this plan?

The head gasket should be a metal one already,

a Stock 130 PD turbo will also push 27PSI on spike, I'm running 150PD which I run at 27-28 PSI on full chatter without much issues ( until it does give up!)

theres only so much exhuast gass going to be produced by the 110 injectors. might make the T3/4 a while to spool up

of course altering the system to run the negitive control system it were the work lies

hmmmm how easy isit to put on the 150bhp Turbo??

i read up into the turbo upgrade, al i had to do was change the n75 valve cause the mk3 works opposite way to a mk4 n75 valve? (thats what i was told)

Clutch would need to be upgraded, a change is even advised when going up two injector sizes.

An intercooler would be a worthwhile fitment, especially with all the parts being added and being able to fine tune everything with a remap.

A PD150 turbo won't fit on a mk3, plus its a bit old tech now. You can use an AFN/passat 130tdi manifold and later A4 170bhp turbo, with afn downpipe and oil lines.

Regarding the original post, the injectors you suggest are too small, already has a metal HG, and a
t3/4 is way too big for a tdi and for that money would be chinese

Well assuming you don't already own that 170 turbo, you are making life difficult for yourself, when you can buy a 170 turbo that will fit directly

The biggest hurdle to overcome in all of this is mapping it yourself....... At the moment you have an ecu which will require new chips fitting when you want a remap, no obd remapping here.....
Unless you already know how to?

Depending on the output that will be achieved, possible upgrades are to use a VR6 pressure plate to give more clamping force, or both the VR6 pressure plate and VR6 clutch disc - handles around/upto ~330lb/ft ? Similar upgrade as used on 1.8T engines.

I believe so yes, same 6 bolt configuration (best to check with the more knowledgable ones!)

I was looking to go up a couple of injector sizes (> 0.216) but read that it could cause clutch slippage, I believe I'm still on the original clutch at 138k miles so I'd have to look for a clutch setup on top of the injectors myself.

the stock vag replacment 110 tdi cable change clutch kit & vr6 one is the same!

yes the change in N75 system as it's run from the negivite pressure (Vacuum), loads of stuff docummented

Just out of intrest whats special about the 170PD turbo other than the exhaust flow around the turbine.
we're starting from a 90 BHP block, with slighty bigger injectors. I wanted to keep it sensibly priced!

That's nice to know! Can they handle a fair bit of torque, the standard 110tdi/VR6 discs?

Nothing special as such, but the 150 with integrated manifold does not fit on a mk3 due to the rear engine mount. But the 170 is a newer design and also seems cheaper, 150 turbos have held their price.
