Finding the stuff you thought you'd lost and just bought again sounds a lot like my car. One thing I've learned now is to put everything away tidily. Of course my normal method of working is still rip everything off as fast as possible and chuck it out of my way, and then spend months finding it again... Works fine when you're doing a little job but it's a mare when something takes longer than one day and I've been to sleep
Its in! no not me the front engine Fitted a new flywheel, bolts, slave cylinder and VR6 clutch, just need to sort out the inner CVs/flanges
Rear rack is to keep the rear wheels pointing in the correct direction when moved about, separate track rod mounts to be fabricated at a later date
Old 1.8T that came out of the syncro, shoved in a corner for *** months , it’s only done 22k but looks like it’s done 222k new solid flywheel new VR6 clutch rebuilt box with ATB diff new slave cylinder in place of MK4 item wash and brush-up for the engine, fit heat shields and engine mount should keep the heat off, includes a 16v ally shield sat in at last
Wish I had just one of those engines - How much they did the engines cost each? And when do you think it will all be up and running then?
Its just an engine support for when you take a gearbox out, it sits between the inner wings and suspends the engine. Ive used it because I cant use the original cross member as I want to use a MK4 rad. I will have to custom make a cross member and rad supports ........... sometime
Who sold me the dodgy fuel pump? I got it on the ramp today to make some sort of mounting for both pumps, I bought one off someone on here a good while ago. The pumps sat on the top of a cupboard in a box since I bought it, I got it down and started to remove the old pipes when one of the integral plastic pipes fell off. I thought it must have been damaged in the post or once I got it, on closer inspection it had been glued back together, before I received it Im not down to a pump housing but the annoying thing was it killed my plans for the car today [:^(]
talk about getting it done like you do i cannot beleive you broke the fuel pump (admit it lol), has the deadline for getting the front engine running been pushed forward from easter to xmas now? i wanna say something encouraging like "not far to go now" but that would be a blatent lie lol
i thought of something positive. its an inspiration to us all. in all honesty though, when we broke GPES's mk2 abf the other week, we made an 8v mid engine conversion in about 10 minutes. thats because we are pros
I cant believe Im being heckled by a MK3 owner, how bad can things get [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(]
