Tyres, so many to choose from???

    kuhmos are about 1/2 the cost of goodyears for mine, and have been amazingly good

    Kumho Ecsta HM KH31 w rated

    just sooo good for the money 80 ish, goodyear/michelin in this size were 150-200

    when you've got 1900kg haulin ass it needs something decent underneath it

    not tried those kh31 but that sounds positive.

    i think the ecsta range is supposed to be their more sporty versions

    w rated so should be up to high speed action well 186 ish

    original equipment on lots of new mercs too

    only ever used eagle F1s in the past, but they just don't do them in Limo sizes

    I used to be of that opinion, thought the same of V pattern Goodyear Eagles too and still have V pattern Rainsports fitted to my Cabby but a period on Michelin Pilot Exaltos on the Ibiza has reminded me just how bad all these V pattern tyres are on broken northern roads, wanting to squirm about on broken, ridged and uneven surfaces so typical of the B roads and lanes in this area. Changing back to Michelins transformed the behaviour of the car on iffy surfaces.

    I had forgotten that many years ago for road rally Escorts, block tread patterns were always the things to aim for, and now I remember why.......
