I'm about to order some supplies to make a few uprated headlamp looms for me and a couple of mates mk2's, I bought one a while ago and I'm not happy with the quality and fit. I've had a look on ebay and I'm quite shocked at how messy most of them look...

...anyway if theres enough interest I'll make a load of them, the more wanted the cheaper they'll be, I reckon I can do them for about 20 if I can get enough interest, these will be made of good quality stuff and will be designed to fit properly and will not be a multi coloured birds nest
I'm an Aircraft Electrician so know what I'm doing and will give you 6 months garantee, can't say farer than that.

    So who's interested?

I'm ordering the stuff on monday so be quick.

    Cheers
    Phil

will this go on a mk3 also? will the headlight work as normal with the same normal switch? is it a simple matter of replacing the old wires under the bonnet?

if its pretty easy, ill have one

I'd be interested in one if they do dip and main beam. Bought one off ebay a year or so ago, absolute rubbish quality, still sitting in the garage somewhere.

no need for a mk3 - headlights are wired differently from mk2's

Well looks like they'll be enough interest, what I'll be doing is taking money from people when the looms are ready, otherwise I'll end up with a back log & I don't want people waiting for a loom they've already paid and then getting behind.

When I originally bought one I had to wait 2 months for it to arrive! Thats not the service I want to offer.

Anyway I'll be contacting you all in a couple of weeks hopefully, depending on how long the order takes to arrive.

    Cheers
    Phil

I'll have one, for a 4 light Mk2 setup please.

I bought one from a guy on here before which was fine, but I have 2 golfs now so need another. The one comment I'd make, is make sure they're long enough, as the last one was only just long enough, so limited how I could run the cables.

20 is too cheap, btw... but if you can do it for that I'm happy !!

Right I ordered the stuff today, should be here in a few days. I should think the first lot of looms will be ready next week at some point.

The looms will be long enough, I'll be doing the prototype on my car so rest assured there will be no fitment problems. I'll be doing 5 single lamp then 5 twin lamp ones, so those who want single lamp will get theres first.

As for Mk1's,Corrado's and Rocco's bear with me, if theres anyone local with one if you bring it over for me to use as a mock up I'll do it for 1/2 price. I'm 10 miles south of Kings Lynn Norfolk.

As per original reply; just to confirm,

Would like a twin headlight version for my '91 Gti (4lights in total)

    No problems for the wait.

Let me know how & when you would like payment
