    One that..

    - stays where you put it
    - doesn't roll away or point where it wants, when it wants
    - doesn't fall off where it's been hooked with the slightest touch, knackering bulbs like they're going out of fashion!

Fully garage-trained version needed only please! I have no luck training the things

    TIA

also one that doesn't break with the slightest touch,

guy up at my mechanics was wearing a head torch with LEDs in the other week, nice and bright, points were you are looking rather than blinding you and leaving what you are working on in the dark, something i find that happens a lot with lamps.

Know what you mean Chris although with regard to bulbs I`ve been using `Ring` Rough Service items for years now ... never broken one !

"Ring" Heavy Duty Inspection Lamp Bulbs (Rough Service) - reinforced filament supports and gas filled to operate cooler. 60w item is code RW100.

    "Ring" 0113 276 7676 - Bought them in either Halfords or B&Q.

Also use a portable 500w floodlight which doubles as a heater :)

BTW I`ve sent you email re. your last Wanted item.

It's not the light itself - what you really need is a proper light holder!

Someone like me! Who stands outside in the pouring rain/freezing weather whilst someone is mucking about inside the bonnet or underneath the car!

    "Will you be much longer?"

"Not long now! Hold it over this way more!

"Will you be much longer, my arm is aching!"

    [:x]

Rechargeable cordless LED hand lamps are the future, Ive bought 2 and havent used the old ones for the last 12 months, bad news is they arent trained very well as they sometimes wander off and you cant give the lead a tug to find them

they are all well and good, very helpful at holding bits and bobs when needed, but just don't tell them how long it is going to take, that quick half an hour job you think you can manage that runs into two hours, does not go down to well[:s] [8(] ;)

Petzl `Tikka` LED headlamps are definately the way forward. I use one for work and a mini Mag for nooks and crannies. Only cost about 20 from any decent outdoor shop.
