This thread has probably been done before but I saw one of these cars today and it replenished my hatred for them - can't stand the look of them so this is the one car I would definetly wipe of the face of the earth

What!!! That Volvo above i've heard are a right old laugh to drive with a welded diff!

The Saxo's have been chav attacked but behind all the crap that goes on, they are a little pocket rocket to be honest. Plus its cars like them that keep the chav's from destroying other decent dubs!

And those Metro's, that's a turbo version too which I always liked!

I must have some issues

I would have expected cars more along the lines of this:

So, it's just the look that puts you off then? Not the engineering?
So it is subjective, not objective critasism?

Its so hard to choose just 1 car, im a real vag sl*g and dont like much else. Everything made by the french would have to go. Especially meganes/scenics i hate working on them. The 1 car i would pick is the MGF.

Any of the nasty, generic Korean crap - namely Kias, Hyundais and Cheverolets.

Old tech, horrible styling and will probably last about 5 minutes before they require scrapping. I hate to think how many decent old cars have been chopped in against this sh*te under the government's scrappage b*llocks :thumbd:

Also anything described as a "Luxury 4x4" - X5s, Q7s etc. Won't elaborate as we all know why they're sh*te

While we're at it we'll also junk any of the "urban 4x4" crap - For example Qashquis of whatever the f*ck they're called. Utterly pointless I've-got-no-idea-about-cars-but-must-keep-up-with-the-Jones' school run toss.

Mk3 Fiestas and Mk4 escorts are pretty grotty too..

Can't decide on one I'm afraid - there's so much out there to hate [>:d<]

Without wishing to shy away from burying this car, I'll flag the brain dead morons that drove them.

    Dead simple (emphasis on 'dead'):

"Hi, I need a car, but I have no interest in cars"

Salesman: "do you want to get in everyone's way and spend your motoring life behaving like you've only got a passing interest in getting somewhere, and to hell with who's behind you, albeit being the first one to pull the self-righteous card if you ever get challenged?"

    Buyer: "How did you guess?"

Salesman: "You'll need a Volvo 340, 240, 740, 760 or possibly a Rover, and have a Saab 900 as a leftfield option (provided you never allow the turbo to spool up). Failing that, a humdrum Jap saloon. HTH."

So, it's the driver, not the car? Per-Inge Walfridson managed OK.

Despite the 'geriatric' image the 300-series has gained over the years, it has had quite some successful appearances in motorsport. For instance, a tuned version (using alpine/gordini cross-flow engines bored to 1770 cc) was driven by Per-Inge Walfridsson to win the European Championship of Rallycross in 1980.

    Not the engineering?

An unusual feature of the car's design is the geometry of the rear axle. Two degrees of negative camber on the rear de Dion axle produces a similar stabilising effect as the expensive and complex Weissach axle launched by Porsche a year after the launch of the Volvo 343. The inherent stability of this design made the car popular with serious drivers.

The nicest handling car in the Laycock's test fleet was the Volvo 142!

I always said there were only four things wrong with Volvo 340s.
They were 2 inches too high, and 2 inches too narrow!
    2 + 2 = 4!

I think I would delete anything with a "hybrid" badge on the back.
Probably some clever technology going on in there; but I know the drivers are looking at what i'm driving and are smug about their planet saving choice. [8(]

The Volvo 240 Turbo was a common sight in European Rallycross. However, this did zilch for the image of the car (in the UK anyway) and it took until TWR played merry hell with their BTCC estate T5s in the mid-'90s until the owners of said vehicles started to stray away from the common stereotype above.

Nowadays, they're a mixed bag, but the hardcore didn't bale at all, so if in doubt, give them plenty of room

Is that this Ago POS? Definitley if it is. And the Aston equivalent which seemed to be the latest re-branded nonsense being talked up as worth a premium when plainly it isn't.
