the pipe on the wastegate should go to the n75 valve if you have one failing that you can run a pipe straight to the t/b for instant boost lol

    which engine is it on?

the wastegate is part of the turbine housing (usually, unless its an external wastegate)

the wastegate it connected to a shaft, which has the actuator on the end.. the actuator moves the shaft and opens/closes the wastegate

the actuator is conntected to a vac hose, after that, it depends on the car

the wastegate controls the boost level, it depends on the setup of your engine. ive seen a lot of turbos where the wastegate has a vac hose the connects to the compressor housing and "senses" boost that way

i'd agree with that. it's basically measuring boost. so when the boost reaches a level greater than the spring in the wastegate actuator can hold it'll start to open the wastegate thus preventing the boost getting any higher.

a boost controll or bleed vale would bleed off air in this hose to cheat the actuator into thinking it's seeing less boost.

Add a nipple to at near the start of the boost pipe. Advise to place well before the throttle.

LMA do them nipples, or merlin motorsport, i saved having to drill mine by tapping onto the silcone hose , with a special hose take off at the boost pipe,

so what are you going to control boost/engine with?
aftermarket ecu... which should have its own "n75" kind of control output to dial in boost when mapping it

actuator only pressure then or bleed valve or external ebc - but you will need to control fueling & spark to suit

standalone is a very good idea @ this juncture me thinks

    Thanks Bill,

This is the old setup Not a clue what the box does i presume thats the electronic boost controler? There is a switch a 2nd heater button this is the "extra boost" button.

What alternatives have I got at the moment on a budget? non aftermarket ecu at this stage? How would a manual boost controler work?

    Cheers

if old TT kit then I think there was a crude driver for 5th injector for additional fueling and some means of clockwork ign advance control.
