    never, never, never, never, buy a fiat....my last car was a brand new punto sporting and it went through 3 (one out of warranty) gearboxes (not to mention other bits and bobs) in 3 years. this is why i now drive a car that cost half as much as i sold it for...i needed to pay back the cost of the box!

    Fiat Bravo..... umm my sister had one for a while but it had so many faults, rust, virtually every interior panel squeeked, had some random engine problem that caused it to stall and not restart for 5 mins or so.

    Maybe it was just a friday afternoon model, but I'd never buy one.

    There's a well known Italian phrase that seems somehow fitting;

    'Forget about it'

    My mrs brothers have both got fiat punto's dun up a little, older cars tho and they are not that bad to be honest, ok fair enough they can rust easily and do have a few problems popping up more or less every month but they are usually easily stuff to fix if you know what your doing, and by heck with a few tweeks here and there they don't half fly

    theyre awful cars! dont buy one.

    even fiat fans dont like them, so fiat stopped making them after not long!

    what about a Seat Ibiza or something instead? much nicer & VW build quality. (better than fiat anyway).

    Hmm... not got much of a reputation for reliability eh? I had a brand new Punto as a hire car in Italy, it kept unlocking itself. I've never neard of a FIAT without some electrical fault or other though! [:s]

    :o right lads, get 'im! :o

    sorry but bravas do NOT look like corrados. brava = rounded 5 door family car. corrado = low slung, sleek, slightly angular sporty thing. thats how I see them in terms of looks.

    Speaking of Italian cars, my alfa 156 (which is meant to be one of the better italian cars) wasnt very reliable and that was brand new :o

    Brava/Bravo....NO!

    For a first car id say get a bubble shape Micra.

    1.3 16v Twin Cam, Group 5 ins, 75 BHP & weighs the same as an empty crisp packet....

    Looks a bit toss, but great fun!
