if you were going to do that (i wouldn't) youd deffo need hubcentric spacers that bolt to the hubs and then you bolt your wheels to them...... rich why not get wider 15" wheels, like some 9x15" BBS RS, now that would look phat, and i'm sure you could afford the rediculous price of the wheels seeing that you are a rich git. my 2p Ro
3rd ones in here's the blurb DRA SERIES 40 - 60 mm track widening This spacer is fitted to the hub with special wheel bolts and has new threaded holes for exisiting wheel bolts. From H&R Ro
I've seen some cars runnin spacers much bigger than 50mm with some gay wide bodykits, colour coded them too. I think you'll just have to accept that they wont be out as far, and it'll handle terribly!!
Big spacers put big strain on ya wheel bearings tho & its not like you just have a tiddly little 1.3 under the hood!
I was always thinking of that type of spacer anyway, forgot to say in the original post. Those are the ones, rowan. Any idea on how much roughly for a set of 4? Edited by: richgit
I just bought the H&R "DRA 40" and "DRA 60" for my Mk3 GTI. The wheels now sit more flush with the archs. They cost me 97EUR for the DRA40 and 108EUR for the DRA60 kit, plus p&p. I can post pics if you want, but the pics are more after than a before and after! I am happy with them, well apart from the 40mm (20mm each side). The bolts are quite soft so i managed to round one off when i wanted to change them to the fronts. Had to weld a nut on to get the bolt out! One question though... Why do spacers ruin wheel bearings?
