Cheap performance, interchangeability of parts, and spares won't break the bank - which is good, because they're unreliable pieces of shit.
Because when you go to a golf show, only the minority are street rats, rather then the majority at any other car show.
You can drive it like a sensible person, or like a madman. Either way you can still out perform some of the more modern day "GTis" on the road
It kicks ass, basically It's a buzz when cruising and folk on the street turn an look round and you can see them mouthing "It's a mk1 Golf" And you look in the mirror and see them still looking Other than being vain, fast enough, handles like a go-kart, and pulls chicks It's in the blood, though. My first car was a Golf, dabbled with some of their German cousins - they sucked so went back for the original and best. That's why I got my Mk1. Don't think I'll ever sell it......
Its generally an enthusiasts car, and people respect that. Also people dont realise how quick they are, and you can upset much newer more expensive cars! Overall its the best handling, most involving and nicest driving car iv ever driven. Sean Edited by: seanlazyass
I geddit! And you don't have to ask your mechanic named Tony, to "Fix It Again Tony"... Who will get this one?
Because they are f*cking ace. German workmanship at it's finest Anything else in the same price range is just crap!
errrr...............not sure tbh. I guess the VW scene is a major factor, even if you do get the odd Barry Boy on here . Cheers Jamie Edited by: Yorkie
The people that drive them! Have met some great people that I otherwise wouldn't have met through driving/owning Dubs. Plus it makes the drive to work in the morning a LOT more bearable
