The driver was provided by the company we were visiting. In Switzerland it appears to be customery to drive in the 'fast lane' with full beam lights on until people get out of your way. If they don't you hang close behind until they move over.

Luckily I made it in one piece :)

I've driven at 125+ (mate took a photo of the speedo, so I know that for sure) legally on an autobahn in Mk5 GT

But I hardly dare take my eyes off the road and mirror when I'm travelling at over 100, so it surprises me that some people can be looking at their speedos and rev counters when they're driving a lot faster. Or am I just a coward?

Fair enough, but i see nothing heroic in driving closely behind someone AND doing 100mph.
    Just ends terrible accidents.
Almost as pointless as this thread - all this 'my gahoonas are bigger than yours' cr@p.
Besides, theres only about 3posts in this thread that are even vaguely credible.

Not so much the shocks but the general attitude of the company when you have problems. I sent my set back for a rebuild and was told that it was not possible to source the seals for the older kits any more. I stripped the units down, measured the seals I needed and found some off the shelf at the local agricultural supplier and rebuilt them myself [:x]

^ they know who they are.

As a test of reasonable validity, id suggest these criteria :

    1. Statement about cars speed alone : Not worth a jot
    2. Statement guarenteed by calibrated GPS: Mostly convincing
    3. Certified printout or policegun(possibly): Fully believable.

157mph on the speedo probably 148ish real speed in my CTR, oh and it still had 500rpm left until the limiter

180ish on a Fireblade couldn't be exactly sure as I was concentrating on trying not to die:)

Speedo only reads to 140 and was past that. Other members GPS was reading 143 when I passed him (on track) in my mk2 20vt. Guessing 147-148ish.

Get to a track day and get it out your system! I find I drive much more leisurely now that I do regular events. Don't feel the need to show how fast my car is on the public road any more.
