Not quite true, there are MANY 02A box's - the mk3 16v box has the same ratios as the 1.8T box - but doesnt mean its the best box to use.
    :)

True, but then I never said it was the best box to use? :p - Just thought I'd state some good points about the 02A. :)

But this imples there is only one 02A box.

And you gave one good point about the 02A range - that they are strong.

And one point about the MK3 16v 02A in particular, in that it has ratios close to the mk4 1.8T box

Jus in a picky bein a cunt type of mood;) :p

    - I can see that!! :)

    Well, you get my drift.

    A mk3 16v 02A is strong and the ratios are good. That's how I should've worded it. :)

Finally a good use for all those crappy MK3's ;)

I got a 3.94 final drive though - which will mean sooper dooper acceleration :)

Depends on cash situation nearer the time - would like to, but its a fair ol extra cost.

Probably something to happen after the engine. :)

I went for a peloquin from America in the end. www.thescirocco.com

Because the dollar is worth feck all, it worked out at 445 quid and I paid no import duty either. - And the fitting kit/gaskets were included!

Might be worth looking into... ?

Surely that would be dependant on the engine torque, the wheel diameter and tyre width would it not . . . :)
