ive had a few of each.

8v DIGI and K-Jet - K-jet diffenately more lively - DIGI easiest GTI to drive slowly

16v with 42mm and 52mm inlets. 42mm much more fun on the roads, improves low down torque, 52mm for on the track. either way past 4k it just gets crazy and soooooooooooo much more fun than 8v

It`s a liitle known fact that God himself drove an 8v Mk2. He attempted to de-restrict it and inadvertantly created the universe from the resultant release of torks.
It took him six days to get all the torks under control, and, on the seventh day he needed a rest, so sold the car on. It now resides in my carpark, and, despite his efforts to restrain the torks I`m afraid we could see another `Big Bang` any day now. It`ll possibly happen on my way to work in ten minutes time, so, I`d advise you to say goodbye to your loved ones...[8-}]

I've got both, i find they're really quite different in that the 8v is blue and rusty, and the 16v is red and shiny! [:o)] Neither work though currently lol, so they match each other on performance atm.

you realise once you de restrict a 8v you cant go back....be sure you can handle the low end fury before doing it

the back to future delorean had a de restricted 8v lump to perform that, he also had the back seat laid flat for added ooomph

i just scanned an ancient scripture.

this was moments after god did a full bore launch in 4th. that is way the earth leans on a 13* axis.

god used an 8v mk2 to create the seasons

(that line up there was so good someone has to put it in their sig)

Doesnt the Bugatti Veyron use the 1.8 8V engine from a Mk2? Albeit a restricted version!

it was an actual experiment to see if the 8v would rotate the world faster and prove that the 1.8 8v is the greatest engine in the world. but due to excessive torque they had to settle for a tame w16
