Each one indiviually crafted and touched by the thighs of a thousand rampant buxum blonde aluminium operatives in overalls tied at the waist with lenghths of polishing cloth. So therefore lots of muller.

I do have some 17's touched by an nigerian crankshaft grinder from southport wearing levi shorts halfway down his calf with the bottoms delicately frayed for best effect. Beachboys style surfer shirt to set off the ensomble.
Dub 95 can have those for 130 as the tyres are pretty good on them.

    Brandy anyone?

Had 18" TSW Catalunyas on my mk3 with 215/35/18 tyres and 10mm spacers at the front. Car was also lowered 60mm all round and never rubbed at all. Arches were standard too.

17"x8" will require mild arch rolling. But 18"x8" with 215 will need some serious arch rolling/flatening/pulling.

18s on a mk3 look a bit tonka toy to me, but it's what floats your boat that's important, if you like it, do it.

I had 17" x 7.5 on my old golf a few years back, they fitted like a glove.

    These had 205/40/r17's

It's seems a bit odd that 8.0's would need the arches rolled?

yes, but was you car lowered?

mine was lowered 60mm and I had the arches rolled to fit 7.5x16's, can't tell you how well they sat in there as the wheels never went on, but nonetheless, one would presume it'd scrape.............

It was a little but not that much

I guess i should either get 16's or look into getting the arches rolled. I bet this isn't cheap either :o

i'd personally say 16's for handling/ride/looks and cheapness.

Heres a few pictures. I would have also thought 18s would looked big but mines looked spot on I think. Were put on by previous owner but was told no arch work was done, just 10mm spacers at the front and lowered 60mm all round on springs and shocks

Does it rub at all when you have more people in the car and you go over speed humps etc?
