my favorite thing about my mk1 is the interior, its standard, near mint, retro cool and it suits the car perfectly. i do like looking around show cars, i appreciate paintwork when its been done to an amazing standard. i like leather trims and the quality of the stitching in an MJ retrim. but when i see a dash conversion of any kind in a mk1 it puts me of the car a little.
i'd rather have this than a poxy old mk1 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1999-NISSAN-S...=39:1|66:2|65:7|240:1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
I would never spend 10k on a mk1 tbh, but that actually seems good value to me, if you wanted something like that....
GTS Skylines are for chavs who can't afford the real thing. There are a couple around my way they aren't very quick at all, they struggle to pull away from my 120bhp Mk2. Spend the 10k on a nice clean R33 GTR or a fairly modded R32 GTR, you'd be looking at around 500bhp, coilovers, big brakes etc for that price.
Think about it. The R32 is boxy, lighter, better handling, faster. The R33 is more rounded, heavier, doesn't handle as well, a little bit slower even with more power. It's almost as though Nissan were copying what VW did.
but if you were ever into mk1's and were to repeat the build of this mk1, you'd top 10k very quickly.
When I first saw it I thought that's well over priced, but as you say, if that's exactly how you want a Mk1 it would cost a hell of a lot more to build it yourself.
That Mk1s suspension will fall to bits in a few months like all AVO equipeed cars. For 10.5k id expect him to replace fully with KW V3s at least before you took it home.
Yep, this car is a stunner MB Motorsport is the VW Specialist garage I get all my work done by over in Hebburn. Going to see them on Sunday
and mk1's don't rust eh? as for slow...yeah, ok....my mate's just paid 4k for one and it's got 387bhp....i can't see that being slow.
