WUR Modded kjets question

    Yep the top ones are the same, but brass :)

    Are they without the top hats? as i have never seen what these top hats look like!

    ok, well the top picture is exactly what the merc ones look like and the ones i took out were the same also!

    Are you saying that the bottom pic is without the top hat?

    Does anybody have a linky to any DIY threads to this WUR mod thing. Heard about it, just want more info on it. I take it there must be an FAQ somewhere.

    Kev - yes, that's what Golden is saying.

    I ran the Merc ones without the top hats, as supplied, and they were fine.
    Assumed they were meant to be run like that, and were a different design so didn't need the top hat. But I've never actually pulled one from a Merc to see if they have hats, so I can't be sure.....

    I see, as these were Hidro's, he must have put the hats on then and that's how i got them, as the VW ones i pulled out looked the same, i just put them in!

    So to clarify, the silver end bit is the top hat yes and these can be pulled off?

    So to conclude this thread, i guess by doing the wur mod and setting the C0 etc myself, i am pretty close to getting it running good. Next step is to get it on a RR and see how close i actually got it, will be quite interesting actually :)

    is the 2% CO ideal for torque?? or is just the street legal limit???

    2% is the rich end of the factory spec, it is a guesstimate on a moddied car and just a good starting point.

    Merc 180 i think, do a search on topic only, there are plenty of threads with the part no's in - 33 quid each last time i checked!

    Not really been proved tbh, as there is a massive difference since i changed them - very smooth and seems more power, but that's because my old ones were knackerd :) New ones from GSF could have given me the same, but i got these merc ones second hand and alot cheaper :)

    I think TSC said in another thread that no one is going to folk out 120 on each set (Merc & VW) and test them on a rolling road!

    I sold Hidro the Merc injectors, only had 1000 miles or so on them and I`d pressed the 16v top hats on. I`ve got the WUR and Metering head that was tuned/ shimmed with those injectors at Stealth when my car was on k-jet..

    Hi Keith, yep those injectors have done more miles in the post than actually running on the car :) LoL

    At least i know where the hats came from now! :)
