Already converted from petrol to diesel & there's no looking back.
Saved myself a shed load of money on fuel, insurance & tax. It's got more torque than my Corrado ever had & it's good fun to drive.
Skoda Fabia vRS or Ibiza Cupra TDI is next for me!!
I've test driven the Ibiza Cupra TDI & it totally amazed me. Just too expensive at the moment.
The Fabia vRS is an absolute bargian for what it is.

hopefully a scooby RB5....buy who knows really!

i admit that the latest TDi's from the VAG group are pretty impressive...but they don't sound nice enough or rev high enough for me yet.

My next car will, with any luck, be a SORN declared GTI 16v!

I'll work on it for as long as it takes to get it how I want, then get it on the road when I can afford to.

    A classic plan. [8D]

I shall never buy another petrol engined car.

Something with a 2.5 or bigger TDI next time, quattro would be nice too. Narrows down the choice of cars though. ;)

    Cheers,

    Drew.

I have a childish tendency to laugh in the face of reason and practicality,
so my next car, fingers crossed, will be a Passat W8.

Drew, are you and I the only ones here who are amused by minor
    spelling errors?

They never will either.. a Diesel rev range is limited by the speed of the fuels flame front.

I won't have a DERV... like Mr Porsche says 'I simply don't beleive in them' (his reaction to a reporter asking why the new 911 doesn't have a Diesel option...)

I've had everything from a scooby to a clio 172. I now have a Skoda Fabia Vrs & it's probably the best car I've owned. The torque is amazing and give a better 30 - 70 time than some high end perfermance cars it also takes so many people by surprise

oh and you can get 50MPG for fun  which means hopefully soon I can spend all the money I'm saving on fuel on a nice 16V golf

Perhaps not. Trendytramp was telling us all about the potential of diesels reving to 8000rpm before too long due to some clever cylinder designs.

Once that is done, goodnight petrol.

    Cheers,

    Drew.
