I was just looking at the spare inner big bumpermetalwork spare rear lights front nearside bumper bracket and countless other bits and pieces in our garage. Especially from a scrapyard, it's cheating going to vw heritage etc lol. so what should any self respecting vdubber be collecting. oh and I've got............
4 interiors, 5 engines, nuff trim and lights to do 3+ cars, too many gearboxes, couple of Mk1 shells and skip loads of other Mk1/Mk2 bits.
early doors and a spare set of scraper seals in good condition, early door mirror blanking plate, all KR injection systems x2, 16v brake ducts, mint 16v small bumper lower spoiler, spare seat cloth for a complete interior, had the foams but mice got to it in my shed! 2x 90 spec full exterior trims, arches and rubbing strips. loads of other random bits and bobs!
90 spec arches, side mouldings, jacking point covers, 90spec sill covers (skirts), 90 spec arches or g60's, genuine big bumpers, standard grilles, Hella lights. The list could go on... Its mainly the trim that would be good to store, as its so hard to come by these days and you have to pay when they do come up!!
I've just kept 3 jacking sill point covers (brand new in wrappers as I lost a couple originally so stacked up on them ) and a spare set of 90's spec gti side trims for a 3 door.
i've got lots of spare bits in my garage. lots of electrical bits and bobs window switches, sensors etc plus a full set of reconditioned tappets and 8v gti camshaft, door speaker grilles, dash speaker grilles, maf, thermostat housing, trim clips post 90 dash wiring loom, 90 spec fog light loom, the list is endless(ish)
I would store away a SH!7 load of MORALE for that day when all goes Pete Tong and your left at the side of the motorway in the rain [:^(] But hey thats just how it goes with older cars, one day your sat at the side of the road cursing & ripping your hair out, the next your smilling from ear to ear gunning it down country roads, MK2 golf aint just a car it's a way of life.
My bonnet started flapping this morning, but it wasn't a long roadsider just clip it back in place, alright since but theres a spare slambar front in the garage if it does go. My car just doesn't like damp and rain first thing in the morning
