used my car in a maths lesson, eg bought it for 2100 in 2001 and said it depreciates at 6% a year, so we worked out its value now 1132 approx. This kid says 'my dad sold his gti for 50 like yours to we buy any car' unbelieveable!!!! keep looking there must be bargains to store away!!! And what do we buy any car do with those cars?

Assuming its a Mk2.. it depreciates by -6% a year these days! therefore you maths is wrong, and its now worth 3761 approx And anyone who sells to 'we buy any car' obviously did not pay attention in school!, the cars they buy at that price end up as cubes on a ship to china
It was only an example in class!!! compound interest, anyway I'd like to think mine is worth at least a 1100 and its never going to win any contests but it's been mine for 10 yrs+. I put cars on scatter diagrams too.

So far i have a spare and complete 16v head, some lights, injectors, alternator, manifold, and odd bits and pieces. Need clocks, stalks, ecu, and defo a head lining as im always hearing or peoples going saggy. Oh, some badges. With the cost of secondhand ones these days, its only a matter of time before someone tries to have them away. Infact, i might just take them off and only put them on for special occassions! Especially the 16v grill badge! The last one went for over 70 on ebay the other week. Saw one the other day for 50 odd! Yep, defo taking mine off!
