Used to live on same road as Gary Glitter, nearly ran him over a couple of times, accidentally, pre computer repair turnpoint.
<snigger> When I was young the only famous people I met were Rolf Harris and Dave Lee Travis, not a great track record really I suppose.
On another note - guess what my German Shepherd managed to get whilst being in a kennel for just one day? Anyone?....Very much a hot topic right now and indeed has been one for quite some bloody time. Answer: CANINE CORONAVIRUS (Not COVID-19, more like a 3rd cousin of it) It triggered a bacterial infection in his gut and well you don't have to guess what went on from December 24th until about January 30th. He lost 4 pounds and I'm 600 dollars lighter.
Picked up a big bag of crisp last week and the weight was 80.5 grams, dry pasta - 99 grams. Why not round it up or down?
Well if you expect them to give you more for the same price by rounding up - you can forget that. I'm pretty sure they'd happily charge more for less by rounding down though. The 'Tayto' crisp bags as we call them in Ireland are getting smaller by the day - God be with the days when you'd get a proper bag of crisps as opposed to these air filled buggers you get today. That said everything is going this way - Yorkie bars, kimerberly, mikados and coconut cream biscuits (not sure if they were a thing in the UK) but overall you're getting less and paying more.
On the subject of crisps etc. I remember when monster munch were launched in 1977/78 and I always thought they were claw foot shaped, then about ten years ago I found out it was supposed to be the shape of a monster, and now I read the makers now say it is definitely a claw. So there you go, childhood illusion smashed, just about came yo terms with it, then the world gets tipped upside down again. Curse you maize snack.
Club I swear they are smaller and a wagon wheels. It’s not looking good for us lads if we are taking note of chocolate and crisps weight. We should be more concerned of the engine size
This is what we do in this particular thread @Vinnie, I think this is an ABC thread (Anything But Cars) - definitely no point in drifting in to this thread if you’re looking for automotive wisdom and or if you’re a delicate flower. Real (grumpy) men reside here…
Although I’m no fan of Wagon Wheels you’re spot on Vincenzo, back in the day those wagon wheels were sizeable-not anymore though. Club milks have also begun to suffer from anorexia/shrinkage
