Just adding this as i need to find the part for the front inlet manifold cover bracket, i think its in my loft. 06A 103 943 AB Also need to order 06A119518L to fit onto it
Might have the first bracket spare in garage if needed, off the apy or bam lump, 2nd link comes up Russian and not forthcoming mate. Just Googled it, may be one of them too, but may be broken as the bolt rusted up in bottom
That would be real handy actually, the second shouldn't have linked but its just the pastic cover that goes onto it
Guages all working as expected. They do need a refurb on the bezzels though. i'm not sure how to split them though. I know its possible as you can buy kits to change the colour. Maybe heat them up with a hair dryer? IMG_20210212_114121 by Laxadams, on Flickr The daily came in useful for getting rid of the old fence that i replaced: IMG_20210212_092805 by Laxadams, on Flickr
Ohhhh i don't think i could cut them! I might just really carefully mask them up and lightly scuff the bezel then sprat with some satin black. its a low / no touch item and that should be enough to make it look nice?
I'll dig in garage later, like I say may be there and have a bolt stuck in it, may not be there, but I'm a bit of a hoarder, which paid off as I had rear handle snap and luckily kept original ones off the green one. I'll let you know.
I had the same gauges and did the same as above, didn't prime them just dusted them with satin black, really tidied them up and lasted for years without any issue
well it went ok. Painted with a matt/satin black which looks nice and OEM IMG_20210213_132438 by Laxadams, on Flickr IMG_20210213_144253 by Laxadams, on Flickr 149210821_161205862323549_4848028347506056130_n (1) by Laxadams, on Flickr
on the things to order will be : Genuine VW AUDI SEAT SKODA Beetle Cabrio diagnosis plug mounting 6N0972559 to mount the VCDS I've ordered 2 x new temp senders and both have come through incorrectly (from what i understand) as black ones that read 0-180 i believe. Heritage have these on their site but they come through as black ones. i feel like they keep sending the Febi/Topean 049919563B versions which are 0-180 degrees and my guage goes upto 150 I need to find some genuine senders i think @rubjonny did you know the genuine 0-150 degree part number? The current sender that works as expected has b310 1-1601 on it so I'll do some more googling to see if I can find the brand also found a couple of Topran units in the garage : 100854- 049-919-563A - listed as a white mk2 0-15 on the thread below but its black and defo a 180 from my test earlier 103113 - 1H0-919-563 which is a 0-150 degree sender from a mk3 https://www.clubgti.com/forums/inde...range-and-colours-mix-and-match-guide.228287/
if the sensors are aftermarket you cant always rely on the colour coding thats the trouble, so test as you have done to double check. also as per the thread, ETKA says the white sensor is 0-180, but the genuine sensors are stamped 0-150 this is why some sites list the MK1/2 ones as 180 the MK3 1H0 sensors are actually pretty close resistance range to the black dash temp 0-125 sensors as it turns out, not 100% exactly the same but near enough for a mk1/2 gauge people have found. I suspect the difference is the 1H0 is slightly more accurate at higher temps as its designed for oil rather than coolant, hence dash one is 0-125 and mk3 is 0-150 genuine VW part numbers are all as per that thread. for MK1/2 MFA oil temp you use 049919563A, mk3 the 1H0 number, Audi 170/180 VDO gauge 049919563B. I think for the 150 VDO gauges you use the 049919563A as well but not 100%
Thanks again for the information John, super helpful. I'll try the 1H0 part later today and see how that looks on the read out. On a side note, i found that Merlin Motorsport sell brand new guages, so i might sell my set and get some nice brand new ones as a treat
