No didn't get it skimmed as there was no overheating or anything, hopefully it'll be alright. I did ask the advice of a couple of mechanics that are family friends and they said it would be fine not to skim as it was caught very early. Fingers crossed! Checked head and block with a good steel rule and they appeared completely flat once cleaned up. The car is running again and on the road! Couple of other minor probs, will start a new thread and ask a few questions there.
