The WOLF R...So what has happened with it, during the time that this thread has been sleeping?

Well stay tuned as I have been busy behind the scenes with this and fear not the car is up and very much alive as I have been driving it this summer still on stacked gaskets!

However, that is the 'entry level' engine. This ABF engine, demonstrated what could be done on a budget with some careful thought and planning. I am happy to say this original concept has been adopted and pushed further by some of our trackday enthusiasts, with very rewarding results for them.

In the quest for something a bit more extreme, The WOLF R is due for a significant update that removes the twin MLS gaskets to run lower CR pistons, rods, cams and a 620bhp PTE turbo :o, all this whist retaining the 'sleeper' look. All components are in hand, except the cams, which have been ordered.
As a result I plan to update this thread in due course to reflect my next steps.

    Stay tuned stay optimised

Looking forward to updates on this. What clutch is it going to run? Staying with hydro lifters or going solid lifter route?

It runs a Sachs Sport clutch currently. I may have to update to something a bit more robust when 400lbft + is fed through to the poor 02J job :p

No I will not be running Solid Lifters in the the 500ps spec motor. There are a couple of tricks I will be doing on the valvetrain though.

Hi toyotec I am very impressed with the level of detail that you have posted and it is very useful as I am building a 9a turbo atm and was wondering did you modify the inlet yourself and could you recommend someone to do one for me please?

The car is waiting in a queue behind JENVEE and my S3 to start preparation of the engine build, gear selector and gearbox.

Engine being built to support this...

The car sits in one piece, unused and SORN. as I look after the members on here and other priorities.
Most of the bits have been gathered for a significant update, just time required to complete.
