Okay Bill so I need glasses as well as tyres.
Thought those Yoko's were like or were cut slicks. Damn sight grippy though. ;)

Still I'll never catch you up in the Beeza....too radical for me.

Looking around in general though your Jetta was and is a robust quick tool and gives excellent bang for the buck...especially at trhose Ford days !

Prof...the RR day was captured on Tristans or Duffmans web site I believe...it's on the TSR RR thread recently.

Don't ask me how to put it on here..I haven't a clue.

I'm glad we know each other... as we could take things the wrong way [:D]

Got many good years from the old Jetta. It will still be out there with its new owner.. and he had fun at Curborough in it, on his first ever sprint.

Ford day #1 was cool... Best track car award too... a Jetta on an RS day.. LOL. only topped by this years fun in the Ibiza with the Cossy Focus.. Great days and great fun.

Going to get me an atmo engine again for Project Scirocco. Need to hear me some t'bodies on full chat. This time 20V not 16v tho. (in my spare time..lol)

    regards
    bill

Maybe the next 16v Stealth day won't have people "experincing problems" like happened this year.

Better gathering to see what does what and see torque curves etc...

    A few questions:

    1. How much do these Throttle Bodies Cost?

    2. Where can I buy some from?

Throttle bodies themselves cost about 500 (DTH as pic) then you need

    fuel rail
    linkages
    air filters
    fuel pressure regulator (usually)
    dedicated EMS system
    wiring loom for above

then you have to get it mapped.....

That's actually quite cheap. I wanted to run bill's T/bs but the
import duty to Aust. was huge on new car parts. My car runs EFI
Hardware T/B's with a manifold, so if you can easily access
Bill's kit in the UK, go for that as it's simpler to install and the
manifold just adds bends in the intake path that don't need to
    be there.

A VR6 is nothing compared to a well setup 16v on T/B's IMO
and I wouldn't even consider it as an option. The first time I
drive my car, I said that it was worth the money just for the
sound!! I'm still playing around with camshafts, but am a huge
    fan already.

Oh, and if you're putting them on an ABF, I'd seriously consider
different gear ratios or final drive, as the standard O2A ones are
    terrible, especially with decent cams.

i cant comment on the specifics of your mk3 2.0 16v engines cause i dont know much about it. but i totally disagree that its a waste of time on a standard engine. mapable engine management and 1 inlet per cylinder, theres not much more you can do to increase volumetric efficiency in such a big chunk. (apart from a turbo oooobviously)

anyway, i was gently pointed in the direction of this thread to poke up some graphs, and i made this torque one while ago as a comparison

the thick black line is a stock 2.0 8v vauxhall engine with filter and exhaust, thin black line is the same engine with irmscher inlet manifold, the read line is the vauxhall brochure figures for the 20XE (150bhp stock, so comparable to the mk3 engine ?) the green line is the most recent rolling road of my engine before i took it apart (140k smoking joe vauxhall), no other mods apart from crappy sportex exhaust and btb manifold.
