is that a valid representation of the head ? i.e does it really tilt back like that ? the included valve angle looks slightly shallower. xe head is about 46 degrees

ive got proper graphs but they are from gerald dale motorsport and decidedly dogy due to massive coast down losses (i.e nearly 50bhp) rolleyes

pinch of salt with SBD's figures really. they are all closed cell dyno graphs, about as useful as a 2cv in a last man standing destruction derby.

aha, so the engine tilts back, and the head is angled. that explains why it looks cock on a flat surface.

so how do you fix the head to the block ? bolts that go round corners

regarding the peak torque, the xe does seem to suffer from losing the pre volume chamber. (thats the big box with SFi written on it, in standard trim) it was developed specifically for the engine and head.

definately an XE graph though, still got that trade mark dip at 4k ish.

these are my two dodgy gerald dale graphs from early in 2001 just after i fitted the bodies (120k ish miles)

yeah stock cams. it made 163bhp at the wheels on that run. every other RR after that day to the present has been circa 150 at the wheels, slowly declining as the engine became more decrepid.

as i said i dont really trust that run because of the massive transmission loss, plus the fact that the day has never been repeatable. (it made 189bhp and 169lb/ft earlier that day, with the fuel pressure too high)
