Brand spanking new, in parts and labour etc it's worth more than that by a fair bit, but now I wouldn't expect to get that much no. I only put that as a figure cos I "had" to to stick to the rules and not what I know I could get. It was a safe figure basically
Still inconclusive, especially after 24 hours in which the Green Machine may not recieve the quality of 8v engine it has been getting thirsty for. Heaven forbid a 16v will be used as the easy option! To torment a poor fat Mk2 Scirocco like that is not what the 8AS expects from its leader!
Green rocco has an 8v installed. Results for election in yet? I reckon Gaddafi will be out on his butt before we get a result in this sham vote.
Latest revelations about the scandlous 8AS representatives' activities http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=234189
At least members of the 8vAS actually bother to help out their fellow dubbers regardless of valve class or status. It certainly seems a one way flow when the only thing coming back the 8vAS's way is more unjust propaganda from the deluded PFFMV.
Eh, it is a 16v rolling road day? This suggest no 8v cars are allowed. (in case they show you up) Have you been out in the sun too long?
They obviously read the wrong threads Danny! Power alone does not maketh the car! There are so many more attributes, related to THE GTI, which only has the 8v motor, as noted elsewhere, quite recently!
Pfft ...even on 3.459 cylinders it still had more power that most modified 8vs. Putting a hatchet to a 16v will only make it equal to an 8v .
Danster now engaged in a dirty tricks campaign against the PFFMV http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=236387 High time to cast him adrift of the 8AS!
I've read been trawling through this & the other 8v hating threads & having a bit of a laugh about it all. Just for interest sake, the 2nd fastest "FWD" VWon the planet are yep, you guessed it 8V headed 4cyl.!!!!!!!!!!!!! & to rub it in even further!!! Its still a counter flow 8v head! So laugh away cause the 16v's don't come close to this. Fastest FWD VW is a 20v that I can find. 8.765 The 3rd is a 16v, which is 2 plus tenths behind the 8V! haha VW AP2000 83.5mm x 92.8mm Head:OHC 08 valves non-cross-flow (intake and exhaust in the same side), port and polish by Pro-heads Cams: Sans Cams 296 degrees (9k rpm rev limit) Springs and retainers: Crane valves: 40mm intake and 35mm exhaust Turbo: Garret GT4088R Header: German (custom) Intake: Belquip (custom) Pistons: Iapel 83.5mm 8.5 CR Rods: Howards Crankshaft: OEM 92.8mm Flywheel: Sapinho (custom) Clutch: Multi disk by Barpan Argentina Injectors: 8 x Bosch 160lbs/h Fuel Pump: Weldon 2345D Fuel Pressure Regulator: 2 x Fiat Tempra Distribuitor, cables: MSD Ignition and Fuel controller by HIS PW6X Suspension: Impacto Traction bars: Sapinho (custom) Icecooler: Supercooler - the system is cold by the methanol. There is a full chassis'd corrado running 7's with a 16v! Full chassis meaning full race car, race trans, full house 9" rear diff etc etc. So the only part of the corrado is the taillights probably! So the only thing that is VW is the engine & badge.
The hate is just banter, i once owned a few 8v's and loved them to pieces but, then i had a vision and saw the light, since joing the church for the PFMV i have never looked back. Bring on the next service, maybe we could let a couple of the better 8AS members in just for the morning?
