non VR Corrado used same hubs as MK2, MK3, Passat, Jetta, late Polo, Scirocco, Rallye/Syncro (cant be bothered to list between what years) and the non VR legs were the same as late Polo and Caddys. Not got jig specs for Caddy/Polo but they were the same floor pan at the front
Hmm gary, on the side of your wagon I spy an Eibach springs sticker + a 'ring sticker + the GVK motorsport malarky. Now this is quite serious, the slippery slope of chav is being approched here & must be stamped out quick smart pronto!! I mean how many steps away are you from say a Kenwood or Alpine sticker & maybe a Sparco one & maybe perish the thought of a Ripspeed one!! all lined up on the drivers door- as proudly displayed by the Acne ridden Burbury clad max power set. I appreciate you have an illness & its not your fault- I blame excess carbon monoxide poisoning in the brain due to fauly exhaust extractors at work, but anyway its not too late help is at hand & freely available on the NHS. All you need to do is dial 0800-help-im-turning-into-a-chav & one of there specially trained advisors & sticker removal experts can can help you...
Yes,very zippy Ian As I've said in the gearbox thread, it's made it more responsive and comes 'on cam' the instant you change up Much more VFM & BPB than carbs IMO
For furure reference, if you need an outer CV boot kit for the Passat driveshafts used in this conversion (1990 2litre 8v/16v) the VAG pn is 357 498 203A
You are sick.... On second thought, so am I Oh welll... It says it on op of the page... For Gti nutters by GTi nutters... Big hugs to all GTi nutters... Stop me. I am rambling. Again... What was that helpline, again??? I caught myself sticking a couple of stickers, too... Edited by: Quasar
First time on track last night with the wide track lol- narrow track = Cadwell + wide track = Golf Felt a lot more stable through Coppice (fast uphill 100mph left hander) and good through Hall bends (off camber, roller coaster stlyee S bends) Pleased with it. Although the combined weight of GVK and the Lizard (Iguana) made for much A048 > arch scrubbage
yet bizarrely the average height of the two passengers evens out... as does the total amount of hair. (Iguana has *a lot* of hair)
Tub's iv'e had guidance from engineers & lifted a 30tonne machine between 2 10tonne cranes so you would be surprised how much an SWL can be .
Finally got through all that, . For widening the rear track: Just wondering why not just put wheel spacers on the back? as there is no problem with scrub radius's etc? Or am I totally off track in my thinking? (no pun intended)
The new dampers will help, no doubt about that Rob as the old ones were absolutely sh4gged, but even when the FKs were new 3 years ago, the car never felt as stable as it does now. Pity the clutch died on the POS this morning, but that's another story
Bump for mattG60 And a pic of the car in track mode at Snetterton last Tuesday. Good job there's no sound as this was the moment Ian (IV mk1 16v) came clonking down the pit lane after my gearbox failed
if i was to run wide track on my jetta does anyone know if i would have problems running 16" x 7.5" et 35 Azev A's? would they scrub if the arches were rolled? also does anyone have a complete list of what is needed to do he wide track conversion including part numbers for the items you need new and pictures would be nice
Im running wide track and have just fitted 16"x7.5" et35 BBS RC's with 195/45r16 tyres the car is lowered on koni shocks and eibach springs...no scrubage whatsoever on the front a tiny bit on the rear hard cornering, much arches haven't been touched yet, so if you get them rolled you shouldn't have any probs!
cool sounds ok then as long at the et on mine is 35 said on the website they can go up tot about 45 odd my rear azevs used to rub on the arches anyway at a standard height so i know they will need doing mine is wound down on spax rsx. also i have 215 40 16 tyres on so slighly wider but less high i think?
