Autocavan pedal box, where can I get one?

My initial reason for looking at one was because the relocated alternator was knocking on the brake transfer relay. I wanted to retain the same layout as the factory 16VG60 so something had to give.
Also the initial attempt at a hydraulic clutch did not work well.
I haven't tried it in anger yet, but I am expecting more leg power will be required, be back to my Beetle days !! The pedal feel at the moment I am very pleased with.
The cleaning up of the bay is great though !!

Any chance of a pic of the top of the brake pedal, of the linkage between the pedal and twin master cylinders?

So you can copy it? Why?

Not sure why so many people copy my pedal box, I don't profit from selling them, I stepped in to supply these when the original supplier ceased trading, not to make money but cos I love mk1's and the mk1 community. If you think they're expensive then organise a group as this will reduce costs by about 1/3

I've recently seen a "replica" of one of my boxes and it was shoddy to say the least, mine are built by a professional racing company by a certified welder.

Yeah they're available, but there's quite a few people interested so surely a group buy would be possible, it'll make a huge difference on price as the guys will build them in a batch.

But if you're desperate for one PM me on here (NOT on Edition38) :)

A prototype LHD version is in my unit right now. Unfortuantly I've just sold my LHD mk1 so have no vehicle available for a test fit [:s]

I would also be very interested in one.

Chris stated in posts 8 & 10 that he was in the process of finalising some forum advertising for the company that make them and that a banner will be up soon, not sure if we need to wait for this before looking to set anything up?

Yes, spoke to them this afternoon, just sorting banners and so on, but shouldn't be long.

No harm in getting together a takers list in the meanwhile. Note that you will need to supply OE parts for conversion, ie they don't have the pedal assemblies to exchange.

I'll be honest I'm trying to take a back seat, as Chris has mentioned the company that makes them is coming around to the idea of selling them direct (something he wasn't willing to do before hence my involvement)

I did a group buy a few years ago, the quantity needed back then was 10 units.

BTW the supplier does a lot of good stuff (they used to make all the stuff for AutoCavan).. the jigs for the mk1 and mk2 rear braces are STILL hanging above the TIG bench :)
Their biggest business is roll cages and shell prep..

Worth mentioning that the leverage ratio has been increased on later ones. Originally ballpark 5+:1, now up to 6+:1.
