Your going to use the BBM limited integration kit right ? It was designed for left hand drive, so the servo would be on the right looking from the front. You would think great because the mk1 has the servo in the same place, but alas no, the rear positioned alternator bracket will knock on the brake transfer linkage unit when accelerating hard :-( You have two options, use a pedal box or fit the alternator under the charger, BBM will sell you the bits needed to do that, I think that is what Trev16V did on his MK2.
I don't know if it helps any but another guy on here was asking about the master cylinders that I used, thought it would be useful to add to this thread: I got my master cylinders from Raceparts (UK) Ltd - they were the cheapest at the time. I took the advice of the guy I bought the pedal box off. (Martin/Mickey). CP2623-90PRT115 2 off CP2623-92PRT115 1 off Slightly larger bore for the clutch. Note that these are all imperial threads, so you will need to make up some new pipes with metric one end and imperial the other, I already had some reservoirs that were imperial, so went down this route. http://www.raceparts.co.uk/products/...&+reservoirs
Thanks Ade.. good info. The AP's really are great bits of (expensive) kit.. I'll setup the group buy in the correct forum tomorrow morning with all the appropriate prices etc...
Hi Micky, can you confirm the Mk2 Scirocco is the same column? - If so i'll get involved with this. :-) Also would it be possible to make one with just the clutch convered to hydraulic? Leaving the normal setup for brakes? Henry
I've sold three pedal boxes to people with Mk2 Sciroccos so I can only assume they fit they don't fit mk1 Scirocco's, however due to me owning 2 mk1 scirocco's there is a version available.. The group buy is now live! http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2090496#post2090496
I am using the bahn brenner kit and unfortunately wasn't told about the clash between the alternator and brake linkage, even though I told them what car it was going in. This pedal box would be the perfect solution but I'm really unsure about the lack of braking assistance. I suppose I could get used to it but might be a little disconcerting in a mk 1 golf with 300 bhp.
What size master cylinders are recommended for brakes f&r? I have mk2 g60 calipers and 280mm discs to fit.
Can anyone tell me who I speak to about getting my mk1 golf steering column modified for a hydraulic clutch?
I have a mickey Marrows special for sale if any one needs one http://www.vwcaddy.com/showthread.p...learout-lots-of-goodies-pic-heavy-(uk)-part-1
Thanks but I only need hydraulic clutch brakes will be staying standard. Spoke to HRP who dont do just a hydraulic conversion on its own.
