its a very nice one but expensive, probably as its a limited and mega low miles.
you can pick one up for 9k

I could get it cheaper than that, I'm a valued customer [IMG]

Bought my mk4 off them, and the lupo, and spend a few grand on bits too.

i love the mk4 but that elise is a much more exciting prospect. you would crave the refinement but you woulnt get bored of the handling ever.

it wouldn't be for daily use, it'd be a track toy.

I'd use the lupo for a daily chariot. cheap to insure, run, maintain.

I'd been planning to build up my old mk2 as a track car. but the more I think about it, the more I think I've had my vw blinkers on for too long and I'm barking completely up the wrong tree.

been thinking about a bike engine kit car since I cam back from the isle of man tt, but abandoned the idea as I don't like open top cars.

but the elise.....hmmmm, now that's REALLY got me thinking.

paul, you need to work out what you're looking for in a car....

first off, do you enjoy fiddling with cars really?

secondly, what do you want out of the car...comfort? out and out power at all costs? handling? mpg?

well, I was kidding myself that the mk4 was a better car than the corrado because it's more practical. then I realised it isn't, as it does 23mpg and it's costing me a f*cking fortune in fuel, I'm sick of putting 50 in it every week, I only work 5 miles away! also, I've just realised that I only realy use the car for work, and that's on some scutty, pot holed industrial estate, so I don't need a nice car. The mk4 is getting filthy. I've just taken the LM's off it as they are going to get wrecked, the road really is that bad. and also, I don't actually need a practical car! just a cheap, reliable one that can get me to work through the winter. I'll use my bike in the summer.

So, that means I'm really better off keeping the missus's lupo and running that as a daily hack. basic as it gets, but cheap to run, insure, tax, etc etc. sure, it's dog slow (1.0 60bhp) but so what.

Ultimately I want a track car as a toy. I was intending to build up my old mk2 as a 24v turbo with 4wd. but the more I think about it the more I think i'm barking up the wrong tree and I should start with a much lighter, better handling car in the fisrt place.........like a westfield, lotus 7, caterham, etc etc. but I don't like open topped cars (if you remember I've already got a rather nasty scar and a plate in my arm from rolling a grass kart and catching my arm in the roll cage as it went over, I don't want that happening again.).

Noticed the Elise in the breaker a while ago, so it's got me thinking seriously about it.

Only problem being I'd need to sell the mk4 before I could buy it. and if I sell the mk4 and miss out on the elise I'd bea bit stuck.

Been having a good think today and I'm just bored stiff with VW's, they just don;t feel fast to me, and no matter what I do to them they just aren't thrilling to drive at all. I think I've gone as far as I can go with them now, and it's time to take off my VW blinkers and see what else is out there to light my fire.
