    Cheers Steve,

Well thats me done the altering to the mounting points, ive also stripped the ARB back to bare metal and painted it up with hammerite ready to fit.

I am going to get the front subframe mounted at the weekend so I can get the car turned around ready to start work on the rear end. [:D]

    Looks the door dangle's [8D]

I took a short cut really, I bought the ECU, Relay panel and Loom ready made for 290 & P+P
that should do you if you just want to manage the fuelling, other than getting an Aux Air valve 3 quid form ebay.

    for spark you will need:

the ford EDIS and sensor = 60 toothed wheel = 20, the HT leads were 35 and a home made bracket 0 and Dizzy blanking plate.

excellent progress your making there, loving thet adaptor flange to use the 1.8t manifold,,

correct me if i am wrong,,
but is the right rear engine mount not going to directly foul with your downpipe with that proposed alignment?

    Cheers Fella :) ,

Your very right, the downpipe is not fixed yet , Ive got to make a couple of alterations to the downpipe and the chassis so that the pipe will fit past the prop and the steering,

I will be doing that when I test fit the engine as I dont want to mess it up and have to buy more pipe.

Time for a little up date:

Unfortunatly Ive not done any buildwork on the car as my time has been spent on my Jetta making sure thats pucka.

however I have been sourcing lots of new parts the the syncro this month on the cheap, VW prices can be expensive and they do add up getting the stuff from Auto factors as well so Ive been waiting until it gets posted up on ebay and then I buy it. All the consumable part on the car will be replaced with new items so its taking time to come together.

    Another list of parts

    Tie rods and ends
    Bushes Lots,
288 Brake disks and Pads for the Front
256 Brake disk and Pads for the Rear
    ABS Hubs
    Front wheel Bearings
    Rear wheel Bearings
    Ball Joints
More Silicone hoses 135o, 90o's and 60-51mm reducers
    Doors and a windscreen
    A 1991 Mk2 Golf 5 Door, Donor car

and a bucket load of stainless steel bolts

I will be getting some work done on the car shortly so stay tuned..................

    Hi fella
the engine is sat on the stand and is nearly finished all apart from bolting down the head, ive even sorted out the induction system from turbo to intercooler to manifold.

after I come back from my holiday at the beginning of July I will have a few days to work on it and you will see some progress.

The front subframe on a syncro is the same as the standard Golf Mk2, there is additional framework on the Country Golf, is that what you want ?

    On the Wheels Front:

I made an express trip up to Leeds the otherday to pick up my wheels [:D] , they are 16" speedlines, they are the first white wheels Ive owned but they do look the part and they were very cheap so I couldnt resist.

No Ive not chucked the towel in, it will be born.

Well my syncro project has only been getting some slow time treatment and has taken a year so far.

Over the past few months since the last update Ive basically just been buying more and more parts for the project.

Ive had to re-think a few things on the car, the main one being the change to Haldex over syncro dispite purchasing all the G60 syncro stuff.

I made a trip over to Ornabruck to a used syncro part dealer for loads of parts, filled up with, trailing arms wth disk brakes, a rear sub frame for the haldex diff, an entire ABS System complete with a hugh servo and M/C setup, and a Syncro wide track set-up.(Oh and i popped to the ring for a little entertainment)

Gearbox wise ive opted for a audi TT 5 speed box and mech, I had the horrible feeling that even thought the G60 stuff is strong I just didn't see it lasting much track abuse.

For the suspension I had originally thought about getting KW Variant 2's, But I had some missgivings after seing some that were supposed to be only a few months old. Then I went to pick up a set and notice that they mk Kw and not the syncro as advertised.

Anyway after a good look at whats out there for the syncro I contacted Gaz directly and asked what they had to offer, they don't have the syncro set up in their catalogue but they were pleased to help and to make me a set up, I discussed track use, dampening adjustment, spring rates and servicing. They recommended their gaz gold set up which included warranty for track use.

I then selected the spring rates I wanted and bartered on the price. All in all very good customer service and I just hope they are as good as they look.

Another issue that i had was converting the rear end to 5 spud and to have the same width as the wide track front end, per chance I stoated across a thread in the chassis section discussing hub adapters. Well thanks to the big man ChrisP for the Link to an Irish company, who I might add were exremely helpful, I got just what I needed, 20mm 4x100 to 5x100 H&R adapters. they are a very nice bit of kit.

Other jobs completed are the stripping down and paint of the trailing arms, I decided to take the head apart and replaced all the seals, and finally I rebuild the steering rack with new rods, ends and gattors.

    Some picky's
