oooh did you remove the wheels and put the car on skateboards and roll it down a hill to its destination while your friend sat in the car and steered it and you stood on the roof naked swinging your shorts around your head in a surfing pose listening to The Beach Boys reeeally loud?

No, not legally. Must have tax to be "wheels on ground".

And insurance I'd guess. I think you might get away with it if you lift two wheels and use one of those two wheeled car trailer dollys.

You won't get away with it if it still has 2 wheels on the ground; or if its on axle stands or a trolley jack, etc. It must be clear of the road surface. For example, on the back of a trailer would be okay.

Do it if you want, but I have 4 cars, all 4 of which are insured, and 3 have tax and MoT too.

So, my question is, why should you get away with paying taxes, if I have to pay them?

its all down to taking a chance to be honest dude, and who catches you if you do get caught, your best bet is to make sure the car in fronnt is 100% spot on, then cross your fingers and hoppe you dont pass a traffic cop.
