Car sold with false dyno plots - N163 PHO

this chappy sold his mk3 16v, apparently with an inlet cam and polished head, with a supposed 197 bhp.


the graphs looked a bit familiar so looked at glens (essthrees) tuning thread. his dyno plots are pretty much identical.... same power outputs.... same time of run.

what a cheeky *******.... not anyone on here i hope?

I have managed to contact some previous owner who have shed some light on the modified state of the engine. The car has had a port and polished head and a 268 schrick inlet cam at least. The exhaust cam was left standard as this messed with the idle. He has also sent me a rolling road print out and I can honestly say this car feels every bit of 197bhp."

The original advert with the RR printout says the car has now been sold. If it was live this morning, I would hazard a guess that a certain hum22a recieved a grilling from a number of forum users & subsequently tried to close the ad?

Tracking the seller down doesnt look like it will be a problem, but is there any way the new owner can be found and notified? Anyone here know of someone who has recently picked up a new Mk3 16v?

Somehow I doubt the seller is going to come clean.

Can we just check that Glenn didn't sell him an engine - although I suspect he didn't.

 

The use of those plots to palm off a product, which we think is not related, is just plain wrong.

Possibly a bit harsh - he'll get penetrated in all sorts of unimaginable/illegal ways!

 

In any case, anyone who believes that spec of engine would genuinely produce close on 200BHP is being set up for a fall IMO

 

Having just been outside to check...I can confirm that MY engine is still firmly bolted into my Mk3...and still making 140+ ATW.

The cheeky sod. Some mug will have bought that car.
