Bummer about this weekend Sam, both yours and Jordy's [:^(]

Would have been good to see them both in action again - can't wait to see a 705bhp + NOS Scirocco go down the strip!!!

    Next event eh

Sam, what nuts did you have on the turbo? Do you use copper lock nuts for turbo or just mani?

lockwireing? Sure you can get pre drilled nuts/bolts.

Reliability... probably the most important thing. Think I may have a problem with that..

I just had normal nuts, was a rush job so overlooked importance of it

It now has locking nuts two of which are copper, its only ones i could find following morning so i can leave car in running state with Wayne

I will however take it all off again after mapping and install some copper nuts with locking tabs

That glowing Manifold is awesome

Won`t that cause stress fractures though ? I`ve read in other threads (1.8T_mk2`s build for example and Toyotects Wolf build) that they have problems with cracks in the manifold. Looks like they are cast though, but as yours is tubular, does that mean its less likely ?

Its a work of art though. Great work !

Found this thread once, some interesting info on it that might be relevant here with regard to promoting the longevity of tubular manifolds.

    Useful info.

If I was building one, I`d probably do it from Mild Steel, I`ve seen quite a few crack SS ones, but I was wondering how a well built SS one like Sambo`s, with thicker walls, had held up over time.

This awesome build is what inspired my manifold build (see sig). No idea how mine will hold up because the car isn't running yet!
