totally agree, got pulled by 2 cop cars few months ago and the 1st one had put his blue lights on as we were approaching a blind corner so i carried on round it, about another 300 yards down the road and then stopped and was boxed in.

Bloke jumper out of the 1st car and i got out of my car.

    1) was told i was driving irratically
    2) was told i should stop when i see their lights

i said i wasnt driving irratically, having a lowered car means i can carry more speed in a corner but wasnt speeding and i was waiting for a suitable place to stop as a blind corner was not in my view the best place to stop.....

about 5min of angry cop in my face actually spitting due to shouting, also not happy because i got out my car and locked it and he wanted to know why and check my documents an ultimately he wanted to have a go at me and give me a producer for in my view NOTHING.

Strange thing is, id had a producer less than a week before and presented my documents to the coppers sat in the other car and had gave them a massive speach about how i am not a wreckless teenager in a fast car and so i asked them to varify i had only just done a producer and the MALE copper said he couldnt remember seeing me and then i had two of them going on at me....

i tried my best to remain polite etc but in situations like that what exactly are you meant to do, blatent them trying to bully me and provoke me into reacting.

I complained after that to the other copper who remained in the car- a female and even she said i shouldnt have to deal with police in that manor and appologised- fact is has my compaint achieved anything NO!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is getting a bit boring now, sure you may well have had bad experiences with cops before, but like every job there are knobs there, I bet wherever you work there are a few persons who are power crazy etc, and are generally hated by everybody else.

Just because the police are in the public glare, is there a need to **** them off.

Some of the best and hardest working cops I know are street cops, and not higher ranking officers, who are only interested in figures.

Trust me there will be some point in your life, when you will need the assistance of a cop.

    Get a grip.

And yes I am a serving cop, with over 10 years traffic experience.

NOT in Glasgow, you need assistance of the police and they turn up too late, maybe not their fault with their new Tetra system and when you dial 999 you get a call centre which then in turn the operator decides on the priority. Last time i called the police I nearly got jumped and stabbed by a junkie in my close, called the police 30 mins they still hadnt turned up. I had to call back to tell them he had then broke into my neighbours flat by kicking in the front door. The police arrive 10 mins later responding to the original call which the copper asked if i had been waiting long, I said 40 mins, he said it was their new system then whilst talking for about 30 mins then the call about the brake in came through on his text/radio thingy.

Im not saying all police officers are a disgrace BUT there are a few out there who are only in it for the power/authority aspect. Also the whole issue they could have dealt with a really bad person before you and thats an excuse to have an attitude is not good enough.

I used to work in a place that you dealt with total scum and it didnt matter how bad it was you moved onto the next person and you had to still have a pleasent BUT assertive demeanour.

My funniest experience with a copper was in Rhyll 1981, he stopped my in his big flashy range rover and I was in a MK1 with a tow bar fitted (sorry:o )
As he was walking around the car trying in vain to find something wrong he knocked his knee on the tow bar which both my wife and I found highly amusing. As he was writhing in agony sat on the edge of the curb we went out to see if he was okay but as we approached wifey noticed that his trouser leg had been torn at the knee and she could not contain herself and so she set me off laughing again.
Mr Plod was not happy with the situation and called for back up, in the meantime me and wifey were giggeling like little school kids and could not look at each other without bursting into fits of laughter.
A police seargent arrived and guess what, he too burst into fits of uncontrollable laughter and sent us on our way. The first PC had his bottom lip out and looked as though he was going to cry.[:^(]

Just to say yes there are some bad coppers but I think that the majority are just doing their job.

I will admit i have a fairly low opinion of the Police (not just traffic), which has been formed over quite a few dealings with them over the years..... the worst involving me getting caught up in a sloppy arrest outside a nightclub which ended up leaving me with a criminal record because the Police convieniently lost the CCTV footage proving my innocence.... my word against three statements (1 original and the other two were blanently reworded rubbish taken from the first) made by Police Officers = no chance.

On the other hand I had the misfortune of driving in to the back of an unmarked Police car a couple of months ago in London at some traffic lights. The DS driving and the two uniform that took our statements etc were an absolute credit to the Met, they were friendly and there was no agro or blame thrown about at all and due to the curcumstances of the crash and the lack of damage to the Police car they didnt even give me a producer. After this experience i was so glad that i had the opportunity, esp in the circumstances, to meet three very kind and decent coppers and was pleased to have my faith restored in the force slightly.

The trouble is, given my previous experiences, its gonna take more than just one instance and 2 bobbies and a DS to make up for the un-necessary crap i have had in the past...... Ending up with a criminal record for a crime that i never committed due to Police incompitance will take a hell of a lot of making up[:|]

I guess 93% of the people they deal with are idiots who talk crap so I spose it's to be expected to some degree.

I agree. You get these posts on all forums. Very boring. I'm not even going to bother writing a long witty reply but just to say, try working a weekend night shift and see/hear the abuse/violence/blood/car accidents/etc that we have to deal with every day, then you might, just might, realise that not every copper is a @*&^

How often in this type of thread do you a post where somebody starts trying to get smart with a policeman and then complains when the copper conserned gets narked? The law is on their side-you're not going to win, just be polite and accept it, then you'll get treated with due courtesey.

    Not necessarily.
Ive been courtious and polite to coppers, and still get told to watch my mouth. Not in those words, but along those lines.
I just think its an age thing... Im the teenager, so I must NOT speak my opinions.

TBH though, its already been said - You get pri cks in every job, and policing is one of them.
It just seems that its my bad luck, that more or less every dealing Ive had with cops, ive come across the pri ck thats power-mad!!

I think most policeman are ok, but as you say like any job there are idiots. I just thinks jobsworths are oxygen thiefs. Have some common sense. I also didnt find it that funny at the time because i had been back from iraq for 2 weeks. It puts things into perspetcive.

    not all cop's are wxxxs

must admit iv had a few run in's with the plod,
i'v had the usual run in's with plod, beeing a truckdriver i get stopped for stupid stuff, witch get's on eer txxs.
but i got ran over not too long ago and my oppinion of coppers changed forever.
they were their in no time and couldnt be more helpfull. the officer even called my home to make sure i was ok.
i think you get jobsworths in all jobs, you just have to deal with it.
im not defending anyone, but i'v noticed if you'r ok with someone 99%of the time they'll be ok with you.

Also not all cops are "arseholes" or "f*ckin w*nkers... all of them", just think about it, the one day when your car doesn't get pulled over might be the one day, somebody else is driving your car without you knowing about it.[/QUOTE]

Typical really, the only time they wouldnt pull your car is when you need them too cause it's been nicked. Fantastic advertisement for the services you offer

GTI Gem if your going to **** off cops, or my last post think of something more original, as I said, this is getting boring.

If you think we are that bad, I would gladly pay you to do a day in my job, I'm quite sure, you would love, to go to a mortuary, to deal with a dead teenager, who has been killed by an idiot driver,or have to deal with the family etc etc need I go on.
