Help on 20vt Management @ gear box info

    Hi all need some help!!
    well i've got an S3 225bhp vvt engine code AMK which i'm fitting in my Mk2 golf GTi 1991, And all i need to buy now is the engine management and I really don't no which way to go! but I no one thing is that emerald will not get a lookin!!LOL!! I've got around 2000 [:s] to spend on it and as I have the vvt it would be nice to have it working!!

    Whats the best system how much will it cost me and why should I buy it!??

    can motec control the vvt or is there a aftermarket management that can ?

    It's fine mate but a bit tight being a brand new block and all that.

    whats so bad about emerald?
    a mate runs an 1800 16v with eaton m62 charger on emerald, just shy of 240 atf, 192lb/ft. lovely ;)

    not a very high torque figure for a charged engine, have you counted the piston recently?

    :clap: Emerald are fine they have recently updated there system to run boost controll etc, Take a look at that red mk2 20vt 4wd (jef Webb) that runs 400+bhp 0-60 3.81 all from an emerald system. [:@)]

    one good thing about that car is the way the syncro system can handle the power, but its had more pistons than petrol

    Motec seems to be good, Electromotive has been highly recomended
    by a trusted source

    or get hold of OEM and pocket 2k

    how good is the OE ECU compared with these aftermarket ECUs
    as i remember someone saying a while ago that the OE stuff on
    the 20vt s is quite good.


    if you cant be arsed wiring it yourself, use part
    of the 2k to pay someone to do it for you?

    The OE is by far the best.

    Lee, dont do down the aftermarket route, get designa dubs to put it on standard management.

    Dad is with the 20vt after beign on emerald.
