    Over 19's only Mike.
I tried. All the specialist ones like Brentacre, HIC, Adrian Flux all said i had to be over 19.
Shame because they are regarded as the cheapest usually. :(

Considering over places were quoting 3k plus it's very good!

But I do up to 40k miles a year so I dont want some unreliable, slow, petrol thirsty and un comfortable to do those miles in.

I'm young, have a half descent job, live at home so I can afford it!

Car was reverted back to standard to be sold. Why leave expensive mods on there when they add no value to a car but you can take them off and get 500 quid back! It's only for my mum to poodle around in so she doesn't require any classyness :p

i used to do 30k a year in a polo breadvan, would happily sit at 80 all day and cost me 180 in insurance,

mind everyone else on the road thought it was the nit nurse coming past, and the brake pedal only seemed to communicate with the wheels by post

Yes but it was good fun, cheap motoring and I bet you look back with fondness...
all these young drivers with fast cars will remember is how much the insurance cost and how much money they spent on fuel.

Start with a banger, build up to a rocket thats what my old dad used to say.

Good for you mate. Made me laugh as well, if my car was 3 years older than me it would be a 1959 model.

Everyone else at school had cars younger than mine. There was one girl with a J reg Renault 5 that was awful. Physically made me sick looking at it. Far more rusty than mine as well! [:D]
Pretty much everyone had pranged their car into various objects/cars/busses as well apart from me!
Where abouts in Yorkshire are you btw K'reg?
You should come to the localish meets! [:D]

I'd buy another 1.0L polo if i found myself in financial dire straights, i used to love trying to drive it flat out everywhere, and you could get 4 new tyres for 100

I'ved been for a slow car already, had a 1.4 Mk3 golf, but that drinks fuel! Costing me 65 odd quid to get to work each week at the moment.

I've got a massively modified Vento running 3.2 ITB with about 300bhp, I'm fully comp with like for like changes on modifications if I smash, agreed value and it's 495 with mileage limited to 5,000 a year. That's with Highway via Green Light. Been using them for about 10 years, full no claims no smashes, no points and I'm 33.

Are any of you guy's with Greenlight Insurance? I've found them an absolute pleasure to deal with and am currently paying 357 FC for a modified 8v mk2. I have an agreed quote for when the 2.0 engine goes in, 397 FC with all mods and points declared.

I did a quote for a UK spec Supra TT and was surprised, 1100 FC!!
