    im 21 with 2 YNCB and a clean license

    i paid about 1800 when i was 19 with 0 NCB on my golf... then again my quote on a fiat schiento was like 1300 so i decided to pay extra for the car i wanted

    not all 19 year olds are students...! i was earning good money at 19 and could afford it

    I am a student, im paying monthly, using money i saved up all summer, and also using student loan/grant. Im currently 1200 in overdraft and working as much as I can atm in the summer. And before anyone mentions parents, theyve paid SOD ALL towards it lol.

    hahah bang on.. other than a roof over my head my parents have not given me a penny either.. and im thankful for that! as i still know ppl now at my age getting everything paid for... boy are they going to have a shock when they enter the real world!

    I don't think anyone assumed your folks were helping out though.

    At 19, I was at Uni but working all holidays and doing OTC (paid) during term.
    Also got naff all help but managed to just about run a mk2 GTi by 21. Only just though!

    I just couldn't put myself in debt for a car again, one of the reasons my track car restoration has slowed down to a crawl at the moment.

    Mike - know what you mean.
    Very nearly paid off the Astra (half paid up front, the rest on 0%) and seriously considering just keeping it and having the financial joy of a "free" car for a while.
    Paying interest on a car loan is about as sensible as buying a semi in Gaza.

    I sorned mine for a year for a break & just resorned it but starting stuff now.
